The link leads you to an animation I've been working on. For quite some time, I've been experimenting with Bryce's ability to animate water. Many attempts have ended badly but I've recently observed water flow at the lake near my grandparents' cottage and put together some new animations. The one at the link is a simple 3-second night-time water scene. I didn't want to waste all of the time on my 10-second water animation without trying a mini one first! As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. P.S. A frame from one of my earlier water attempts is in my gallery - http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=409459&Start=1&Artist=Andini&ByArtist=Yes

Looks grand! The only thing the terrain editor can't cover is cresting eaves, inverted water. You can simulate this, almost, by tilting the terrains back and forth as well as rolling the terrain-map...

I've tried rolling the terrain map with little success. Bryce figured that the perfect transition between the two phases of wave was to make a flat terrain. Very annoying if I do say so myself!

Macs can't play AVI videos? Are you sure?

Looks really nice! Can't wait to see the final.

Yeah. Some work in IE, but most don't. More work if I download them to my HD, but still not all... :-(

Macs can play AVI just fine...its mpeg it has problems with (i think)

antevark ( ) posted Tue, 17 June 2003 at 3:35 PM

No, that's just MPEG-4(which is in part based off of AVI). Macs advertise AVI compatibility, but that's one of the things that they assume people don't need quality for. The problems with AVI can be very different depending on the particular program that generated it. Sometimes it's a white screen with sound, sometimes it's no sound and only a frame every 2 or 3 seconds.
