I think it would be nicer to be able to change all the colors we were able to change before.... I'm really missin' that. All we can change here is the background color and the text color. 8( Bummer!

There are 10 kinds of people: Those who know binary, and those who don't.

I figured out how to go back to the old default color scheme, which is easier on my eyes. Although I may toy with it later, right now that's what I'll have to have to keep my eyes from getting 'headaches'... MD (Overall I like the change...streamlined menus is great.)

Zhann ( ) posted Tue, 17 June 2003 at 6:18 PM

Hey there, I just realized that I have a nifty little utility that will allow you to select the sidebar or header color (the yukky brown) and it will give you complimentary color scheme to go with that color, it's called 'ColorSchemer', and I think it's free at Downloads.net or CNET downloads... I found a nice neutral bkgrd color that easy on the eyes and all the text showsup, AND, the galleries look great...just a thought

Sorry, I've had it for awhile, you might want to check out 'ColorExact' run your cursor over any web page and it tells you the hex code for that color, and 'Color Home' which will give you the hex, rgb%, and long code for any hex or rgb color entered, and allows you to save them as well....these I know are not free but well worth the money....I use them in my Bryce work...8)

ooooo, I just realized that when it's time for a new logo, you can use ColorSchemer to design it fully including the page colors so it all ties together in a neat package!

I've been a member here for years and every time there's a major schema change everyone gets in an uproar. I think people will settle as things are finally set in place. Remember that it says "initial" changes up top not final changes. Bear with them!

RodsArt ( ) posted Tue, 17 June 2003 at 7:42 PM

I use a scroll button constantly, the drop downs are set for auto, and send me to parts unknown if I don't click on the backdrop to disengage the drop down menu. That'll take some time to retrain the brain.

Here's a free little color picker. Doesn't have all the bell and whistles but it works great. http://www.nattyware.com/pixie.html LB

Thanks lost boy I'll give it a try. The only problem is that you can no longer pick what color you want for the header or sidebar, I didn't change it before 'cos I found it quite relaxing but now they've taken that option away I want it back. Unhappy one, me. 8( Catlin

It doesn't matter any more I think I've finally got a color combination that works for me. It's sort of like every color you can get in a coffee cup from espresso to latte and I like it. I probably like it 'cos I drink so much of the stuff in all its strengths and colors. 8) Catlin

woodhurst ( ) posted Wed, 18 June 2003 at 6:26 PM

lets see---i changed it from the blinding white back to the old color scheme, then i decided to "go crazy" and change it to something new. i went from puke green to a darker shade of puke green to white again then to an even darker shade of puke green, then i changed it to tan and quickly changed it back. then i just went back to the old color scheme. btw--this all happened in 5 minutes.

catlin_mc ( ) posted Wed, 18 June 2003 at 7:36 PM

Maybe that's what all these changes were about woodhurst, it's just to get us using those little grey cells in our skulls. The admin must have thought we were all getting too layed back and set in our ways. In other words "a good kick up the bum". 8) Catlin

TheBryster ( ) posted Wed, 18 June 2003 at 7:48 PM

Catlin: What are these 'little grey cells' you speak of...? BTW, how are you? Had any threesomes lately?

Well my house is totally female now. Me, my daughter, my mother, my two cats, the dog and my mother's two cats. The goldfish have never reproduced so they are either both female or both male or neither. But they don't get involved in the household so they don't count. :-D
