Subject: Where's the old Renderosity?

I love everything about this place, but the changes made yesterday, have me screaming where's the old Renderosity! I was startled at first, but thought what the #$%, it will just have to take some getting used to. BUT, an hour later, my eyes couldn't take the abruptness of the colors, my eyes hurt and are still hurting. I didn't really realize why until someone posted an old screen capture of this site. Some have accused us that don't like the changes as reactionary, or you will get use to it, or you can change the colors as you like, aren't listening to what was said. So here are my reasons why I don't like the changes. 1. Its hard on my eyes, I will not be surfing this site nearly as much. In fact I had intended to work on a new product when I got home, but my eyes couldn't take it. I spend 16 hours a day on a computer, and I get real sensitive to color changes. (This from a person who changes AutoCAD's background color from Black to White!) 2. The old default color scheme isn't the same as the old color scheme. Let me explain. All of the links to this site are put in bold and underlined, AND were a different color! Before the links were brown. And quite frankly that is why they were bold, they needed to stand out. Now I have put the background to black, and the text is white, but now the links are bold white and it is too much. Before these were different, now we can't have them different, so this is not the same! It is not the old default color scheme! 3. The visited links come up in a purple, and are essentially invisible in a black background. And we can't change that either. While they are not invisible they can not be read easily! We can't change that and its not the old color scheme! I thought you said that we can have it the old way! 4. We can't change the colors of the side bar! It appears to me that the color choice was because that it complimented the new logo! While I like the new logo and thought it was an excellant choice, I am now rethinking that! (Since I think it drove the color change) 5. By having this colors as the default it will not be as inviting to new members. 93% of the people do not change their colors, and most of these probably don't know how or that they can. I find this a potential problem with new potential customers. If this was done to slow down development of new products, it has worked in my case. If it has been to lower bandwidth, it has worked in my case. I will not be visiting here as much. If one was really concerned about how it looked for long time exposure, one might look up in the research that the Navy has funded. It seemed that crewmen were complaining after 4 hours of watching radar or sonar while on duty. They had to do 4 hour shifts. This was the green on black like the old green screen. Well a university did research and found that the most restful to the eyes was white on blue. In fact when the Apple IIgs came out, the default text was white on blue. Anyway the Navy then required all new screens be white on blue and the men could do 12 hour shifts with no problem. While I am not suggesting white on blue, I am saying that there is research out there on color schemes and some will cause eye fatigue, and I think we have found a new one here. I think it behoves us to dig up this research and use this information, because we want our vistors to find it restful and easy going and feel welcome to stay a while. Because the more that there is a greater chance that they will spend money with us! Logging off now!

"If it has been to lower bandwidth, it has worked in my case. I will not be visiting here as much." but that's the whole point about it. they don't want you to go looking around much. you have to come, buy the product and be gone. doesn' matter that on the long run they will have less customers. on the short run they will have slightly more money in the sack.

Hey Aleks, the problem with your statement is that the colors are pissing off MERCHANTS like BlueBeard and me :/

So were all these changes spurred on by the new Logo? Just because the artist chose a certain colour palette for the logo everything else has to change? The old colours were much more friendly to the eyes!
