Easier on the eyes depends on the viewer. White on dark is a vibrating combination. Yellow on red might be worst, but black text on a light background is infinitely easier on the eyes...at least for me. I'm changing nothing. I'm sure the crybabies will force the colors back to black, which I changed to white until nitwits started forcing light text in forums, and I probably will again. I didn't realize how tired my eyes were getting from all that white text glaring against the black. This creamy color is so much better. And I do like the way the graphics look against it. Good graphics don't suffer at all. I'm glad I'm not an artist. I used to think artists were creative, interested in trying new things. Not true. It's no wonder the galleries are filled with the same graphic over and over again.
hmmmm. I think we all see color a bit differently, yes ??? Perhaps it is possible to return to the old format with the new logos and stuff...that , I think, would be the best alternative. Earth tones...I'll have to try that. Right now, I have my bg set to match the right column,,,with a mustard text....however, the links are very hard to see, other than the IM messages, which are a bright neon greeen..at least on my screen.

I like the new colour scheme..It makes a nice change...I may go for a lighter coloured background like LadySilverMage tho but I really do like the new colours. :D

For those that were like me using the old Green/yellow/red setup these are your colours. bgcolor="#000000" [black] text="#FFFFFF" (for dates and message text, [white]) link="#FFCC00" (for thread names and nicks [yellow]) vlink="#CC3300 (visited link colour [red]) This is the "frame" colour: #006600 [green] It would appear that now we just have foregreound and background, though you may be able to set your visited link colour to override thiers in your browser, but that will affect all sites... I think I'll setup IE to browse 'rosity alone, I use Firebird as my main browser... later jb
But will we ever get a real (present-day) message board? Like the one I talk about in THIS POST.
Don't get me wrong, I love R'Osity and find it invaluable and sometimes inspirational. But to say the system their using is outdated would be a huge understatement.
Has this been discussed before (I'm sure it has), is there a good place to discuss this very topic? It's been a recurring thought of mine for years now. I was just hoping they would one day bring the site into the new millenium.
Thanks,
Tim
praxis22: Thanks for the color codes, but there is a posting in the Forum News Forum where one of the programmers (by tutone, I believe) that says the link colors for the "new look" are hard-coded. People CAN NOT change them anymore. You can only change the text color and background color... and when you try, you MUST complete the "marketing preferences" in your profile or the colors will not save.
ROFLMAO...Pengy, when I first saw your post I thought you were going to try to convince all of us to put Linux as our "primary OS" :^p Marco...your design ROCKS! Your color scheme is much preferred. My preference is to use the new logo's but put things back the way the were...let us pick our own color schemes!!!
Interestingly enough, the drop menus are only coloured with IE, (not sure about Netscape) with Phoenix/Firebird they're white, guess they didn't test... :) Well it looks like they now have text/link/visited colours in the profile, though now loading is slooooow... But if anyone gets stylesheets in IE working let me know :) later jb
hmm I'm using Opera, maybe that's why everything looks so off....

I did change mine to MindVision's original color scheme, and I have to say I'm really liking the new design. :) If anybody's interested, it's background color #1A1615, text color #B5AFAF, link color #D6D1BE, visited link color #9B5EF7. I just hope that Rendo has some sense and makes this the default.
Mindvision, your design is really marvelous! I'm sorry they botched it up with the colors. I know some people have a difficult time with dark backgrounds, but I'm just the opposite. White (or close to white) backgrounds give me headaches :( I do hope they change the default colors to those you originally suggested.
I always set my pages to blues and purples. I liked it that way. Now I can't do that because I can't change the color of the top and side liners. I have my screen set to black with white lettering, but that still sucks because used links are set as dark blue, which I can barely see against the black. I don't mind that they change the thing around, but give me the option to change EVERYTHING, not just a couple of things that don't help.
Talent is God's gift to you. Using it is your gift to God.
Aaaah, that's SO much better! So the "visited Links" colours weren't quite so hard-coded after all...thankfully. Mindvision, your ORIGINAL concept was great; I hope it's understood that our collective ragging is not about your work, but about the pig's breakfast they turned it into. What variety of colour-blindness spawned these perversely tasteless, arbitrary, (not to say just plain UGLY) changes is beyond comprehension. I can only suppose that some suit-filling waste-of-skin decided at the eleventh hour that he or she MUST have "input", no matter how pointlessly destructive. This is why artists loath "producers". And kudos to DangerKitty for the spex.
