Subject: The original colorscheme I used when designing the logo >>>

Background Color: #191615

Text Color: #B5ADAC

Link Color: #D7CFB1

Visited Link Color: #A35EFF

For the black background/white text scheme, that's a much better Visited Link Color than the new default of dark blue, which disappears into the black. Thank you for posting this!

Much better! Thanks for posting this!

Having just changed my colours to the colour scheme you kindly listed above, both the site in general, and your logo in particular look much better. I love the link colours. Just goes to show how much the look of something can change when taken out of its original setting. Shanna :-)

Yeah, poor Mindvision, his original designs are A+++ and everyone thought he's behind this crap Someone on the admin team had his or her own PERSONAL 'bright' idea and pissed everyone off - including the brilliant Architect himself

Fine, but that still doesn't explain why: - the option to change colours on a range of HTML data types is no longer available - the page width has been raised up to 1024 (!) for the header, and over 800 for the Forum, resulting in EVERY thread requiring a sideways scroll (rather than just those with lager images in on the old site) - there are early HTML psuedo 3D frames around things I fail to see what any of those "features" have to do with Mindvisions new design. I thought the competion was just for new graphics, not changes to HTML coding standards...

A welcome improvement, Mindvision, thank you for posting those recommendations for colors. Though it far from solves the whole problem, it does at least make the site a bit less nauseating to look at.

Thanks for the color codes. :-) I hope they change the IM color to the one you showed in another thread. It was perfect with the new logo - and it always appears right under the logo - that was beautiful. :-)

Someone on the admin team had his or her own PERSONAL 'bright' idea and pissed everyone off - including the brilliant Architect himself < I've had clients do this to me. Drives me nuts. I always wonder why the hell they bother to hire someone to do a site design if they're going to completely ruin in with their own "innovations". And, errr, I just tried to go to the Member Options page to try out these suggested colors and I'm directed to the Main index page. I'm assuming this is because someone's working on the Member Options page (at least, I hope so ;) . bonni

Nevermind about the Member Options. It was my own brain fart. Although Member Options DOES actually send me to the Main index, that's not actually what I meant to be looking for. ;) bonni

Why on earth aren't these the default settings? Although I feel Mindvisions logo is versatile enough to fit with many different colour schemes the scheme he's just posted should definitly be the default (so as not to scare new members with the Bright white nonsense). The fact that we can change the colour scheme doesn't help new visitors to the site. Whoever chose the white background should have left the designing to the designer. The mind boggles.

Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?

Baron_Vlad_Harkonnen ( ) posted Thu, 19 June 2003 at 2:38 AM

Nope, latest word is that you're gonna get "the Bright white nonsense" for the next two months :P

A_ ( ) posted Thu, 19 June 2003 at 6:48 AM

Oh, this is much better now.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Thu, 19 June 2003 at 7:06 AM

Thanks for telling us the CORRECT colours. Looks MUCH better now :o) I feel sorry for you, MindVision, to have your beautiful work screwed up like this. At least now I can see it as it was intended. This should INDEED be the default! Only problem now is the text in the frames (like the "email me when someone replies" is virtually unreadable. I know we can't change them, but what colour did YOU choose for the tables? I bet it wasn't this icky greyish one.

Thank you so much for posting this! I am off to try it now! And I apologize if you thought I meant you work in this change before! I mean no disrepect to your artistic talents! Thank you once again!

RealitysPoison ( ) posted Thu, 19 June 2003 at 9:56 AM

Much better. Thanks.

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 19 June 2003 at 5:43 PM

I tried mindvision's color scheme.....quite nice! :) I might lighten the text just a bit to better see some of the text in the tables. But this is definitely much better!

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 19 June 2003 at 5:50 PM

Lisbeth if you use this color for the text, it's still in the same range, but you can see the text in the tables a bit better C5BEBD

Puntomaus ( ) posted Thu, 19 June 2003 at 5:52 PM

Is it only me or has anyone else noticed that the links in the sidebar aren't white anymore? I mean after I logged in, looks like they allow to change that part now as well.

The sidebar textcolors are not changeable but are indeed changed to fit the design better. There is still a lot of work in progress on the colorscheme.
