I want to know how much can you make money in this Rendersity marketplace. Ofcourse, it is difficult question. I know it depends on your ability. I think it is low price that poser products are selling in this marketplace. It is 10$ ~ 50$ In my opinion, it is low. It will have much time that making poser product. It is profesional work. So, I think that is only hobby. Sorry for I give you bad feeling. I don't know about this world. Can you give me some advice?

I believe there are only a small handfull of merchants making a living from selling through the marketplace, most of the thousand odd people are hobby artists using money earned to buy other products, Of course there are other outlets for selling 3d models.and many merchants sell through many online stores. I agree with the low price, the time put into a product is rarely earned back for the majority of merchants, but we do love what we do.

It would also depend on the quality of the item and the demand for specific things. For instance, I doubt you would make a mint on sexy lingerie, simply because there is already enough of that both in the Marketplace and the Free Stuff to open an entire chain of Victoria's Secret stores. Don't get me wrong, there is a need for that, but it's been done way too much. You've seen one Vicki bra, you've seen them all. On the other hand, I hear people constantly crying out for ordinary, everyday clothes. Office attire, gardening clothing, leisure clothes, etc. Regarding props, again, everyday items that people use throughout the day. There are enough swords out there to outfit an entire army, so there really isn't any need for that type of stuff. I guess what it all boils down to is finding out what your customers want. Don't just make what interests you, but what the buyers are looking for. I'm not a broker in the Marketplace (I sure wish I had the talent to do that), but as a potential customer, this is what I look for. For instance, I just bought Ironhart's lovely little cottages, because I've been looking for Thomas Kinkade type houses forever, and his are the only ones I've found that really look like what I wanted. It's a rare item that attracted me to buy it. One BIG item that many are still asking for and not getting much of is clothes of all kinds for the Millennium Boys, both modern and period or fantasy. Do a little research of what we're looking for out here and, as Stonemason said, you'll probably not make a fortune, but in my opinion you'll sell a lot more than if you try to sell something that there is already a great deal of. You may not make a lot of money selling for poser, but you might find that doing it is more fun than making money from it. And if you make enough money to pay for some software, then that's good. Melanie is right. It's better to make things that are different from what's already on sale. But.... you should try to make things you are interested in or know something about. I'm a photographer, so the first thing I made for sale was a photographic studio. Also, you might want to put some small props in Freestuff first, just to make sure everyone can use them without any problems. I spent two years doing Freestuff before I sold anything. It's always easier to work if you're doing something you enjoy. Don't try to make a medieval castle if you know nothing about them or hate history. I don't know where you're from, but I think, not english/american. Maybe there are clothes or objects in your culture that people would like to buy too. Just a suggestion. mac

Poser is a hobby for most people, so you won't get too many items that are successful at $50+. Most people can't fit that into their budget. Yes, there are places that sell models for 100s of dollars, but who knows how many models those people actually sell? They may take the view that all they need to sell is one model in order to make it worthwhile. Here, you get less per model, but you have the potential to sell a lot of models. Cheers!
