Do you know how to make MAT files in general and just need help with subdividing MATs, or do you need help with all MATs, including subdividing?

I wanna be able to put emblems or such without actually having to use a texture. Know what I mean? example: SPIDER Man COSTUME on the body without having to load some texture file.
