Subject: Deleted most of my Gallery

wtsmith ( ) posted Wed, 25 June 2003 at 1:39 PM · edited Mon, 02 December 2024 at 3:32 PM

Hello to the real Artist on Renderosity I have deleted most of my Gallery mainly because I'm tired of the rhetorical remarks about my gallery being made up of mainly Millennium Girls.

Well you know I really love creating Art scenes with the Mgirls they are including Vicky3 the best or the highest mesh characters I have ever had.

Ten years ago I dreamed of being at the Point I'm at today with computer Graphics. Looks like thats even taken away from me because of some small minded people.

Ya I know WHAA WHAA I just had to vent this. Bill

Bill, forget the negative remarks. Nothing has been taken away from you, unless you allow it to be taken. Art is entirely subjective, no matter how we try to define and justify it. The main question you should be asking yourself is "Do I enjoy creating my images?" not "Am I satisfying some nebulous 'artistic' criteria?". Restore your gallery, keep on creating, and ignore the peanut gallery.

'Looks like thats even taken away from me because of some small minded people' I've never seen your stuff, so I wouldn't comment on that side of things, but that phrase above sounds wrong to me. It sounds like you're the one who's taking it away. I don't want to sound cruel, but there's another saying. 'If you can't stand the heat, get out the kitchen'. The reason I'm saying this is to make a serious point. I tramped around from one client to another for over 2 years with my (photographic) portfolio before I ever got a job. And that was after 3 years of work to put it together. People glance at stuff that's taken time and blood and sweat to do, and say 'Oh, no! That's not what we're looking for. Sorry' So, if YOU believe in what you're doing, I would urge you to put back your gallery, keep on doing whatever feels right for you, and you know what? If people don't like it... let 'em go to hell. If you like the M girls, it means you're doing something you're really interested in, and that's the best way to create art. Be your own judge and decide. Don't let other people decide your life for you. mac

Bill, I don't recall seeing your gallery but had I known there was a big fan of the Mill kids like I am I would have been there in a heart beat. Please don't remove them. I for one would really love to see them!

Hit up the link up there... FW is big into fantasy and faeries, but they are almost a perpetual shrine of MilGirl renders :) /P

I'm a big believer in feelings are better let out than kept in so vent away- remember- it's your gallery, YOU are as valid a member here as ANY ONE else is . Go create !!!!!!!! Words can wound but the ultimate choice of how to react to them is YOUR choice only .

Just restore your gallery Bill and if nothing else, disable comments if that's what bothers you. I was just thinking how I must march to the beat of my own drummer. What I like, not many others do and vice-versa...maybe this is your problem as well. Just do your thing...some will like it and some won't. :-) Carol

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

Hey wtsmith- I know how you feel- but tell them to go to hell. Many of my pics use the mil girls too. i like the way the mesh handles. The proportions of body. So many make false assumptions about your motives, Thinking that your some kinda perv, when in reality all you do is open your eyes to see the beauty that is there. Don't let them impose there own psycholocial problems on you- tell em to get the hell over it!!! They, the "morale minority" call everyone a 14 year old boy all the time around here, but in reality it is they themselfs who have the problem. I live in the states, probably the most tight-assed country on earth. Even the accusation of something amiss is enought to get the authorities breathing down your back. But that is the cross we artist MUST bare. to show the world, right or wrong, that FREEDOM can not and will not be suppresed by the "morale minority". So, get your gallery back- don't leave all of the rest of us out flaping in the wind. Geo :) end of rant

I have to agree with the proportions of body of the Milgirls, its perfect for doing teen and petite adult women, just scale her up to an adult height and adjust her facial proportions and breast size, use a teen char like Nia or break out the magnets and give her some hips. Then she looks surprisingly VERY adult, with the right adult-type skin texturing. Nia is a great character for her too. Some people are really unable to think outside the box. Put your gallery back. :) I almost think a good payback is to use an elderly texture on a Pre-teen just to show people the Mil-preteen can literally look ANY age group, its how you set her up.

Dude, chill and put your gallery back. As geoegress said, a ffew too many people are grooving on their self-righteousness trip these days, battling the evils of porn, Harry Potter, women in pants and who knows what else. Don't give them an easy win by taking your images down. That's what they want. If they're sending you email and messages, let the admins know about it. Porn?! Come on...! Were talking about computer generated mathematical mesh models here...nothing but 1s and 0s, really...Did someone batter you for using Mil Girls? Narrowminded. Imckenzie is right: Dont give them the win. -Hanz

"It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees." - Emiliano Zapata Now that is a powerful phrase, isn't it ?? There is just too much self-rightousness going on, fear, and apathy....do your thing , Mr. Bill, and all will be OK. Stick up for your right to be creative....stick up for your freedom. THIS GOES FOR ALL YOU GUYS !!!!

By the time of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, there were still those who thought that America should be a monarchy, with George Washington as king. It is said that as the delegates left at the close of the Convention, a woman approached Ben Frankln and asked him, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" Without pausing, Franklin responded, "A republic madam, if, you can keep it." Now, more than at any other time in my life, I sometimes wonder if we can.
