Hey there, all! I am rather new at all this stuff, only now getting the hang of Bryce and Poser. I want to give Carrara a go at it but am really leery of the $300+ price tag. I wonder if anyone has seen it available online for less? I think I ran across an educational version for $250 but I would need to provide them a copy of a student I.D. and, well... it's been 11 years since I have been in school and lost my student I.D.'s a LONG time ago. ;) Any help would be appreciated. JD

I got my copy on buy.com after pretty extensive research. They had the absolute lowest price I could find. Also buy.com is very reputable, and reliable. I have spent probably close to a grand there and have never had even the slightest problem with them.

I am not sur if the offer is still valid, but if you bought Ray Dream Studio 5.5, it included a $99 upgrade offer for the next version of Ray Dream (Carrara).

Thanks for the info, folks. I ended up finding an unopened retail package of Carrara for $225 on Ebay. I couldn't beat that with a stick so I bid and won. As for the $99 upgrade offer, that deal ran out by the time I started doing CG work... that, and I do not own RDS. JD
