Hello,

I'm beginning to learn PS7 and I have taken an online tutorial (which really covers the basics). But is there a book for beginners thru intermediate? What is everyone's recommendations? Also, I would like for the book to talk about ImageReady as well.

Thanks!

Hi Romeda

There are quite a few good books available but because Photoshop is used differently for different reasons by different artist, you'll definately get differing opinions ;)

If i recall correctly you wanted to make some graphics for your website and maybe branch into logos and small designs. Will you be looking to increase your skill set to include Photomanipulation?
Or color correction for Digital Photographs?

I guess starting out i'd recommend the WOW series by Jack Davis. It covers a broad range of capabilities within PS, and shows you how rather nicely...

I wouldn't bother with the "24HR" or "Dummies Guide" as they pretty much rehash the manual (just in a simplier manner).

I, myself always grab my "bible" off the shelf when i'm trying to remember something (but it's rather dull... actually it's just not as flashy as WOW but a darn good book!)

...more to come,
:)

Romeda The learning curve is steep but once on top is gets easier. I did alot of serfing. There are ALOT of how to's out there. I also subscride to NAPP magazine. That has been very helpful and also get a couple of training videos armed with these should help on the climb. Good luck.

Like Retrocity said, the "Wow" and "Bible" books are great. I find looking around at tutorials on various websites also give me new ideas. Good luck!

Once you start messing with it, everyday life turns into shapes and objects that can be used. You really never look at anything the same way after playing wiht this program.

and hey, if you need the bible, let me know... I have many bibles and manuals for numerous applications... Its a good book and all, but i cant stand to see someone blow 60 bucks on mere information... After all, the gideons give out millions of free bibles... i really dont know where i was going with that...
