The solo piano music, by Ravel is the centre section of a piece called 'Gaspard de la nuit' originaly inspired by the Gothic poetry of Aloysuis Bertrand. Bell in metasequioa and the hangmans noose is a symetrical lattice

Very nice. I haven't a clue what a bell and a hangman's noose have to do with this though.

The distant sound of a church bell's monotonousdeath knell is heard at the begining of 'Le gibet'(The Gallows). The same sound continues unabated - although at times imperceptibly - throughout the rest of the movement.

Great image. Is anyone else surprised at the number of entries based on classical music? I was expecting a lot of Floyd, Aerosmith and stuff for some reason. Cultured, ain`t we.

Beautiful composition! And the piece that inspired you is just gorgeous. @Sambucus: I think that classical music could convey tons of emotions. Dunno about others, but I have hundreds of classical music pieces that move me, against 4 or 5 rock songs (and they're all by Lou Reed, LOL)
