I wish I had modelling skills and programs - I'd love to make some steam-powered wooden mech's like those shown briefly in "Robot Carnival" and featured prominently in the game "Iron Men and Wooden Suits." If I get some other stuff taken care of, I'll see what I can do for this, but my hopes aren't too high right now!
'Robot Carnival' is Otomo's work , my idol. As far as proggies try Www.nurbana.cx for a freeware Nurbs modeller. It's comparable to Rhino in many ways and will open Rhino .3dm files too. The time factor is tough on all of us but for me I'm not married so I model every night in leiu of watching tv. I already started my mech , a Robotech GenIII: Invid Assault Scout Crab. But all in all turn in an entry when you can if you can , late!
I've got a decent selection of BattleTech mech models, so I guess I'll take this challenge. Check some of my images at http://www.geocities.com/kristovk Most of those are mech related, and, just for the challenge, I'll do one of my almost finished, 100% accurate FASA accurate Timberwolf, aka MadCat.

I want to see mechs , either well known ones or of your own design. You can place it in a scene or just in a shot like under a spot light or something. Raziel's challenge below got me to think I can make a manga man too and place him with my mech. That'll be like two challenges in one!
