Hi all, I have had quite a bit of trouble with the V3 to V2 character that is part of DAZ's V3. Quite often, I get the message "Some information stored in this library entry does not pertain to figures of this type" when applying a facial morph or a pose to this character, where the pose states that it is for V2. An example of this is the "Freedom of Choice 50 Faces for Vic 2" which is available in the freestuff section. This is only an example, there have also been many others. FYI, I am using Poser 5. regards, Andrew

Although she can use Victoria 2's textures and clothing, V3-to-V2 is not really Victoria 2; she doesn't have the same morphs as Victoria 2 (although some V3 morphs have the same names and roughly correspond). Hence, face files or poses with Vic2 morph channels may not work as they would on Vic2. You'd have the same problem in Poser 4.

Oh poo, I suppose that means that I have to go and purchase V2 as well.....

The v3 to v2 character allows v3 to take v2 textures. But I'd advise against buying v2 unless you have many v2-specific items. IMO, v3 can do everything v2 does and a lot more. Plus, more stuff is coming out for her every day.

No, you can't use Arizona on V3...she requires the v1 or v2 original mesh. The v3 mesh is quite different being she's new and more advanced. If you look closely at market items you'll see they tell you which original mesh they require: V1, 2, 3, or Stehpanie, Mike 1, or Mike 2. There are some clothing items that are advertised to fit all the mil women (v1, 2, 3, and Stephanie), but characters such as Arizona require a specific mesh (obj file). Hope this isn't too confusing. Dark Whisper has a v3 character. Jamie I think it is.

That V3-to-V2 character still confuses me--I haven't been able to get my V2 textures to work on her at all....I was under the impression, back when V3 came out, that she was incomplete in some way, but I never managed to glean the necessary info to get her working. Does anyone know where to find a tute? My searches of this forum, which usually answer my questions like this, haven't turned up anything (or, at least, anthing that I was intelligent enough to grasp ;)

Oops, I goofed. The v3 to v2 character is Vicky2 with Vicky3's head. DAZ included it to help with backwards compatibility with all the v2 textures and clothes. However, the textures won't be quite right in the head area (especially the mouth) because the head mesh is V3. With this character, you can use the v3 head injection morphs but none for the body because the body is the v2 mesh. The character I was talking about is one you make yourself with the uvs file DAZ provides and UV Mapper. Patricia, I believe this link will help you out. Good luck.

Quote : "If you look closely at market items you'll see they tell you which original mesh they require: V1, 2, 3, or Stehpanie, Mike 1, or Mike 2.". I have noticed that, in many cases, the specifications just say "for Victoria" - that makes things more confusing than ever, because you don't know which Victoria the character is compatible with.
