Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
Have you tried boosting the dome's ambient setting? Normally the ambient colour of something is black or at least dark, but on some things a brighter ambient is needed. I know I always have to boost ambience when I use the Cyclorama in P5 so I would guess the same applies here :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Here is what I do that makes sky domes work great in P5: 1) Disconnect the texture map from the diffuse node 2) Set the diffuse color to black and /or value to 0 3) Connect the texture map to the Ambient color node 4) Set the ambient color to white 5) Set the ambient value to 1.0 6) Check and or set the Specular color to black and value to 0. Save this as a material so that you can use it again and/or save the modified sky dome. I prefer to save the material because I can easily apply it and then swap to a different texture at any time.

I have already emailed hmann about this and Im sure he will get back to be as soon as he is able, but I thought I would ask here as well in case somebody else had the problem and new the solution. When I use the 3D world kit by hmann the sky dome renders two dark to see it in Poser 5. I have tried boosting the intensity of the light that points at the top of the dome but it still is way too dark. Has anybody else had this problem and have you figured out a solution. Thanks, Thorgrim
