I'm my imagining this or does the symbol on her left shoulder say "the great one unity" (heavan) - I vaguely recall seeing that symbol drawn by a history teacher I had that also was a grand master in the martial arts. Which asian language is that? Without the line through the middle, it means "the great one" or god, right? Darn, I should've paid more attention in class. What does the other symbol say? Aharon
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. The finish line is in sight so I'll just keep pluggin' away till she's complete. Aharon - Good pick! The Kanji symbol on her left pad is 'ten' and on the right 'shi'. ten + shi = heaven('s) + messenger = angel Japanese Kanji can have several meanings and pronuciations depending on the context but this one seemed to fit well. As to your question about removing the bottom horizontal stroke to get the Kanji for 'god'. I looked through my character dictionary for this but couldn't find it. From there I went to a standard E-J dictionary but found that the character for god (kami) was completely different. My guess would be that this wouldn't be the case since 'ten' is a compound character. The top horizontal stroke is the character for one and the bottom horizontal stroke plus the inverted V is the character for big. The characters just don't break down right. As I said, it's just a guess since I'm far from being an expert on Kanji.
