Yuji got a lot of complaints about his homepage not being in English, so he has updated it. His description include: ----------------------------------- Bryce2Vue Features: This software, is free of use, but no guarantee ("use at your own risk"!) Bryce2Vue can convert a lot of Bryce 5 objects: Primitive objects like cone, cube, torus... Terrain Objects (and Lattice Objects) Mesh objects Light objects Boolean Operations Sun and camera position converted But some features are missing in version 1.0, like material conversion or sky conversion. I try to convert picture map in next version. ----------------------------------- chikako

Best regards,

chikako

Oh damn! I thought I had found the perfect solution to converting all my objects over to Vue. Any chance of a PC version?

Here's a link to Wolfies Den. These tutorials have been there for 3-4 years I think. I've used them since Vue 2 to get stuff out of Bryce 4, much of it quite successfully. Go to the website and click on "Bryce", at the TOP of the page, then down to "Tutorials" and to "Exporting". However, these do NOT support getting out Booleans, only 3D Meshes. However MOST of older Bryce models posted on the internet over the years were actually 3D Meshes, so I always got nearly everything I wanted into Vue. I believe these tutorials also show how to copy and paste into Photoshop (or whatever) the 3D mesh texture files also, which you only need to re-apply in Vue. I have virtually identical matches of each Bryce to Vue model. Give it a try until this other program hits the PC, which I too hope it does. You can never have enough 3D models and useful utilities!
