Brye forum seemed as good a place as any to post this. . .does anyone know what's happened to Kai? He of Kai's Power Tools (KPT), Bryce (the UI-- the design is primarily Eric Wenger), and more? He was a real talent, and gave great demo. . .

He's here. http://www.byteburg.de/ What ever he's doing, he's doing it in german!

Yes, I tried it. It's really weird, which I like. MetaSynth does have an almost Photoshop-like feel of infinite combinations through all the filters and thingies. Has got a knack for crashing, though. Yup, Krause is hiding in Germany. What's he building in there, he won't say.

Ah yes, when R.Crumb (Zap Comics) retired several years ago he moved to France. Perhaps Kai Krause is trying to retire . . . ???

Over the past few years, I have purchased most of the applications offered by UI. I respect Eric Wenger and the innovative work that he has done and continues to do. The best characteristic of the UI line is that the applications are intercompatable with each other. The problem (with Metasynth et al) is that you find yourself experimenting forever. . . . and ever. . . . . etc. : )
