Hi All,

we need some advices. Our image shows a render in Poser 5, firefly (draft). We don't know how to remove this ugly brown stripes (see yellow marking). The mesh seems to be okay (here joint rButtock and hip), if we reduce transparency to zero, the stripes are gone.

Perhaps you can help us out, where to do the corrections (mesh? we use RDS or 3dmax or settings in Poser?)

Thanks a lot

Daniel + Matthias

To verify wether it's a rendering or modeling problem, try it in r the Poser 4 renderer. If the problem still remains, it's probably a modeling/posing problem. If not, it is probably fixable with a few tunings in the render settings. You might want to try enabling polygon smoothing and playing with the material's transparency falloff and transparency edge settings. In order to get rid of the slight overlapping in at the left hip/upper thigh, you can add a very slight displacement to the clothing prop's displacement channel. This will lift the prop's polygons away from the figure just a tiny bit.

Are these stocking mesh or only a texture? If they are mesh it is caused by the polygons folding one on top another when you are bending the leg. The only way to fix that IMHO would be to play with the blending zones.Eliminating those kind of problems are the most time consuming when you are creating garments. It may not be easy or even possible to completely eliminate this. Probably easier to correct this in postwork.

Hi all, thank's for helping. We tried several settings in render options with the same results. Think it's an overlapping problem. These stockings are mesh and we are going to make some corrections in the bending zones. The Bryce or 3dmax renderer worked fine. Regards Daniel + Matthias
