Hey all, just wanted to share this with you guys. My buddy showed me this program that keeps your RAM freed up while other apps are using it, etc. I've used these before (especially while working in Bryce) and it's worked out well with performance. I tried this file and it works awesome and has tons of features (and it's free!) No I'm not promoting for the company...heheh...I just figured some others here would find good use. It's at download.com called Free Ram Pro XP but it works on Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP...check it out! OR...go to the link above, I uploaded it to my Web space for a while so you guys don't have to download that damn CNET download manager. I hope you find it useful, I have so far! (It's around 524K in size, so it's small enough to fit on a floppy disk, if you even still use those things...heheh) MD *****Here's a description on it***** FreeRAM XP Pro includes automatic memory monitoring and optimization; advanced tray support; fast, threaded freeing with a stop option; multiple system metric monitors; a simple and attractive GUI; memory reporting and diagnostic logging; real-time memory information; and more. FreeRAM XP Pro's AutoFree feature intelligently scales how much RAM is freed with your current system status, thus optimizing RAM without slowing down your computer. FreeRAM XP Pro has been designed to be easy to use yet highly customizable by computer novices and experts alike. Version 1.31 includes minor improvements (for example, an easier-to-read system tray icon) and bug fixes. **********************************

btw...it has a 94% approval rating at the normally tough crowd at download.com soooo that's a pretty good backing. MD

Aye, thanks MadDog, could come in handy for this little 64MB work computer!

Sorry MD but it is more trouble than it's worth.

That's cool Catlin...didn't know if some wanted it or not. I was working Bryce earlier and it helped my system out keeping memory optimized. On my particular system, I need that because I've had memory problems lately. Others it just may not work. MD

XP allows you to sort things out without using other software but I did have this installed when I used '98 and it caused many conflicts and crashes. If it works for you that's ok, just be aware that it can mess up your system badly.
