I have shot it at around 5 PM last Saturday, in a par (I was attending a marriage) with a 1/3 overexposition of light (Canon IXUS 400, no postwork, just resizing)and I wonder if there's a way to take these kind of pictures with light filtering without makin the green of the leaves so brilliant.. maybe 1/3 of underexposure? I am lookin for tips :) I have all to lear here but I am sure your expert advice will help. The title of this should be "Shining Light" (what a fantasy... I know) Thank you in advance.

okay.. I will try that :) actually I am gonna post a certain number of pics here, because lookin at them, I find them unperfect but I can't say why.. and hearing your feedback will help me in training the eye and learning.About darkening in PS.. well, I could but I try to post pure photos in the Photo gallery... allowing not even cropping if it's not really requested :) But I can work on as you indicated for training the compositional skills, that I will surely do :) Ty.. you're very kind in trying to help me :)

This seems very nice to me Meli.... I think the exposure seems right (IMHO) it really depends on what you were trying to accomplish. Your highlights are not burnt out and your shadows have not lost detail. Which is good exposure. The lens flare is interesting, and lends a sunny feel to the image although it is something that people usually try to avoid (it's usually a bad thing for a photo)... The only suggestion I have would be to crop out the foreground blurred leaves on the left. I find them a distraction and do not help the image compositionally in anyway. A step to the right or a slight shift in angle while composing in camera, would have eliminated those. Overall, excellent and pretty picture.

I am, therefore I create.......

Thank you Michelle :) Your words are indeed a greta inspiration :) I had no idea on how it would have turned on because from the camera spy eye the light was SO massive I even thought all would have been yellow :) I like the idea of sun filtering on the leaves.. but maybe it gets better when the tree leaves are darken than those :) Now I know that what was disturbing me in the pic were the leaves both you and David adviced me to cut :) Okay.. thank you. You'll see me pretty often searchin advice here. (Out from 80 pics taken.. practically only one satisfies me... and wonder why? without knowing it, me and ratto shoot EXACTLY the same scene but from two different point of view in distance...Seeing that without knowing did like him, I was sure the pic was at least decent ;)). But we will post the series when also jgeorge will be done with her developing :) Thank you.. precious words were yours :)

Molto bella davvero. :)

Other wedding? :) Well.. I think 1/3 under exposure won't work. This one offer light and green. It's a very difficult shot. Maybe lower ASA could help and if your camera has RAW mode use it for this kind of photos. Anyway I like it.

Hugs and thank you man :)
