Subject: Lyne's Creations Waterfowl Sets! Geese, Swans & babies! Coming Soon!

Lyne ( ) posted Sat, 12 July 2003 at 12:46 AM · edited Thu, 06 February 2025 at 10:35 AM

I am at the mapping stage on a three part set of water fowl that I have been working on for some time. (birds are in Poser now)
Just SOME of the MANY "folded wing" birds included will be:
Canadian Geese & babies,
Snow Geese, Greyleg Goose, White Goose,
Swans - Mute, Trumpeter, Black, and more!
Props will include articulate tongue, fluff up wings for swans, goose egg!

I am now using Ajax's Easy Pose Underground for the long necks,
which adds even more pose-ability. Once I get the mapping done, I will be making the pre-set
poses for each character and putting the sets together. Estimated time 2 to 3 weeks.

I have no doubt Lyne that the outcome will be superb with your personal signature of perfectionism and realism - mother Nature owes you too much already! :) Can't wait for the first sneak preview - so is everybody else I guess! :) Rena

This will be absolutely fantastic. I was always looking for a swan and geese. And now you are doing these. Super. As some of you know, i am playing a lot at the moment with your egret & heron package. It's so realistic and there are so many possibilities. Look into my gallery to see some egrets in really strange situations. And now the missing link between your beautiful ducks and the egrets - swan and geese. Come on, be faster Lyne, I want them now, not in 2-3 weeks!!!

One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.

Thanks Lyne. I know how long you have been working on this set and I am really pleased they have nearly hatched. I think I am going to have to build a bigger lake for all these waterfowl. :) Keep up the great work hugs Daryn

I want those Swans! (even though I haven't seen them yet). It would be an added bonus if they could spread their wings.

Jon ( ) posted Sat, 12 July 2003 at 4:41 AM

YES! I've been waiting for these - now my goosegirl will have something to keep her busy :) What a great idea for the EasyPose in the necks. I'm sure, as with all your other creatures, these will be superb!! Looking forward to them!

Oh WOW - this sounds great, Lyne. I specially look forward to the swans. Usually I am reduced to using swans from my photos on an alpha plane in Vue. It will be great to have some real 3d models.

Thanks all, very much... need to make the maps so I can preview properly! :) Dave-So, my packages are so HUGE with all the maps, characters, poses and on, that they are simply not down-load-able. We do surprise our customers on how FAST the do get our CD's though! :) Firbirdz- swans must have wings to fluff up like they do, so going to have different ones for white and black... the other "Folded wing" geese will be just that, as it takes two different bodies to properly have the wings open out. I am concentrating on the birds that can walk, float on ponds and lakes and be "close up" for this first set of sets... but will keep in mind flying geese for the future! (Bloodsong has the flying swan, and Canadian geese freebie) Well back to work! Lyne

I have to say that no one sends out CD's faster than Lyne. I am looking forward to these....they sound wonderful. :)

Dave-So ( ) posted Sat, 12 July 2003 at 1:07 PM

thanks Lyne..I regularly download files in excess if 100meg...in fact sometimes as much as 300+...game demos :) I honestly haven't order because of the no download deal...I get these urges to do a scene...but the urge changes in a couple of hours :) I am planning on ordring, however..there is just so much great stuff that you have done...and now this package... Would much prefer to do wildlife scenes versus the Vic/Mike stuff LOL

Dave-So and I are on the same page I'm afraid :) If I can download it or have it emailed within a few hours, I'll make the purchase. Sam's 3d has been the only place I purchase that does not do direct download. I've really wanted to purchase your stuff Lyne and the trees at that site as well, but like Dave I look, admire and then move on to the site where I can get stuff right away. It makes no sense.....just a personality flaw :) I have DSL, so things DL pretty fast for me. But....if you guys aren't going to change your site, I suppose I will have to "suck it up", make the purchase and see how quick you really are Lyne! :) Oh and Wabe.....you better keep madasatadpole away from those Swans or they will end up like your Egrets!! :)

We have updated out page explaining our perspective on CD vs downloading at our store - http://www.vistainternetproducts.com/cdvsdl.htm Hope this helps.. now must get back to work.. birds calling! :)

Good clarification Lyne :) I'll get past my "block" one of these days and I'm sure I will be glad I did. Thanks for the explanation :)

sparrowheart ( ) posted Sun, 13 July 2003 at 4:53 PM

I can absolutely vouch for the speed of Lyne's deliveries. Being in Europe, I too hemmed and hawed about ordering models on CD. I do not know how Lyne does it, but I once had a package from her arrive here in two days. Her service is impeccable, and it's rather nice to have everything all backed-up and ready to archive without me having to burn a CD here myself. Kimberly

Dave-So ( ) posted Sun, 13 July 2003 at 5:58 PM

great to hear...about the speedy deliveries...and the explanation on CD vs. download.. thanks

Sorry, I am another one of "those". Even with the new fangled "perspective" if it isn't downloadable, it isn' in my nature to buy. You folks might want to take a look into the marketing strategies of daz and rdna. You could make a killing on those critters you do so well.

Dave-So ( ) posted Mon, 14 July 2003 at 7:16 PM

I think the sales would probably more than double with direct DL.... How do all these other places deal with the bandwidth costs and stuff... The dialup users could keep buying via CD...us broadband guys could dl...I can dl 30 meg in a couple of minutes...
