Well, it's done. The texturing is as follows: Rock 1 - Image-based texture Rock 2 - Image-based texture Rock 3 - DTE texture Rock 4 - DTE texture Rock 5 - DTE texture Rock 6 - Image-based texture Rock 7 - DTE texture Rock 8 - DTE texture Rock 9 - DTE & Image-based texture Box walls - Image based texture Box bottom - DTE texture Floor - DTE texture Logo letters - Image based textures So, in total, there are 8 textures I made in the DTE, and I used all 5 of Zhann's images. Whew! I have to say, this challenge was a lot of fun--the DTE doesn't seem nearly as frightening now as it did a few weeks ago. Comments & feedback are, of course, welcome.

I really really like #5 and #9, those are some snazzy textures.

My what a cool rock collection you have, and what a brilliant idea for a topic and background to display the results of your DTE explorations!

I'm impressed with #4..it's so cool. It's like super transparent quartz.

I like the bottom of the box, nice bump. Where's 6?

mloates ( ) posted Tue, 15 July 2003 at 8:06 PM

Thanks for the feedback. Antevark: where is 6 what? Rock # 6? It's the one furthest to the right--it's a combination of the image textures that Zhann provided. As for the bottom of the box, it's a terrain based on another one of the image textures that Zhann provided, with only a slight amount of bump to the actual mat. As a clarification, the numbers on the image are numbering the rocks, not the specific textures. I just thought it might be easier for people to comment or offer suggestions on a particular mat if I labelled the rocks (so you could say "rock 8" instead of "the dark green pointy rock").

What a great idea. A simple image but it really works. Good work on those textures, too.

Great textures and a great scene. Looks like you found one of those rare "darth vader" gem stones (# 7). You lucky dog!

So have you figured out each rock's Moh's Scale? Lin
