Take notice of all the branches and twigs on the Beaver hut in the referance pic, that's what I am trying to create. I've tried a couple different things: Using cylinder primitive - to straight and rigid. Terrain/Lattice - Cant seem to get anything satisfactory out of that. Any suggestions ? I dont have any modelling programs and wouldn't have the first clue how to use one anyway, so I guess I am kinda limited, Photo Shop and Bryce are my only tools.

Bryce is a modelling package, maybe a bit restricting in some ways but it`s a great pack, Try creating a B/W terrain Height map in Photshop, then in Bryce create a terrain, click on the little E to open up editor and then select picture. Locate your B/W map you created in Photoshop and select it. Hope this helps, somebody here may know a better way :o)

Muddygrub just posted a message that I think will suit your needs perfectly. It's called "transparancy with trees". You should really read it. just a couple posts above this one. Anyway. He shows that you can chop off the top or bottom part of trees leaving only segments of it. So I suggest creating a bryce tree, removing all the leaves, finding a nice dead tree texture, and chopping of the tips and the stump of the tree, leaving what I think would greatly resemble what you are trying to make.... give it a try.. brholte P.S. here's the link to his post!!

Yep, thanks brholte. As soon as I saw that thread I said to myself. Self, this technique just might do the trick :-)
