Somewhere above 16, 000?

Vile ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 10:11 PM

Ok how long did this take to render? My meta ball images always take forever!

Ornlu ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 10:12 PM

Yeah, 19,250.

MuddyGrub ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 10:25 PM

Metaballs galore!

Ornlu ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 10:25 PM

It took 2.5 hours to render without AA. I just did a gaussian blur after in photoshop.

My sincere thanks to you Ornlu for your time. I will have to do that next in my Bryce pictures. Just in case you don't know...I am new to Bryce--just received mine on the 8th of July. Previous to that, I have never done 3D before. My first 3D Bryce was called "Sample Horizon" which is posted in my gallery. Plus, my Bryce 5 didn't come with a manual since it was an academic purchase from AcademicSuperStore.Com. Thank you for your help!!! :-)

I just love Ornlu's postings! You dare things that we (me, for sure) won't even conceive! I remember being here in this forum on my first week of membership and lookin at one experiment of yours using some 1,600 lights... That day I thought that I had still a long way to go, and it was the best "Bryce thought" I ever had. :) So, thanks Ornlu. PS: Digital, if you're without the manual, you should buy Susan Kitchen's "Real World Bryce 4". It's just wonderful (even if you're using B5), anyone here can confirm that. S.

Good heavens man!! Stop thop that, or you'll hurt yourself! But seriously, amazing work! I only hope we never have an "all metaball" challenge...

DigitalPhotography ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 10:01 AM

Yes, that book is definitely in my wish list! Ever since posting my first 3D Bryce picture, "Hyperborea" suggested that same book as well. At first, I thought the book was for Bryce 4 and I have Bryce 5. But then again, who am I to refute the artists of Renderosity.Com? Thank you for the suggestion and I will surely pick up a copy of "Real World Bryce 4."

Ang25 ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 11:19 AM

I bought my copy of Real World off Amazon (used) for under $20 not sure what its going for today but my copy came in totally new condition even tho it said used. I'll never part with it even if they take away my Bryce.

Amazing! Reminds me of the mud flows after the Mt.St Helens eruption.

Digital Photography...you should look on your disk(s) to see if the manual is there in pdf format. That's where I found mine! Having said that, I also recommend Susan Kitchen's book, it is incredible. Tres

Fractals will always amaze me!
