It is not able to recognize the transparancies as the stand .. But it is possible to have them with just a touch of work. There is a full tutorial by spike .. one of these days I gotta bookmark the dang thing. Anyway, What I normally do is load in the steel cage material from the misc materials section. In the grate layer you add the transparancies .. In the steel layer add the texture and bump. Change highlight from blue .. there you go ...
(Looking at that screen in Bryce...) The Materials window for the grate shows two groups of three textures. The windows from left to right are for Color/Value/Bump. I'm guessing the transparency map is loaded into the middle window (Value) of the top group and the texture is loaded into the (Color) window of the second? Just checking to see if I'm on the right track. ;) Thanks for the help!!! ;)
Okay . In the top I think (but it is the one with squares in the example I gave) there should be a button dot thinger ..there is The picture and texture one on the bottom and the "edit" one on the top .. make sure it is a picture and then click the edit dot ...For the transparancy you have to load the hair trans or whatever else you are working with in BOTH of the first two windows .. This will leave a white area where your stuff is and the transparant square thing for the non active areas ... Repeat with the color and bump on the second one .. The first square is the color, the second the bump and trans, the third is the combined form for the most part ... I do it instinctively now so my directions aren't the best .. There is a full tutorial by Spike I think on transparancies etc ....Just have to bookmark the tread next time it pops up but it is asked fairly often if you wnat to look at oler messages on the Bryce board .. later

When I import a Poser figure (exported as .obj) wearing clothing that contains a transparency map into Bryce, it doesn't work (ie. the transparency map shows up like a texture). Is Bryce supposed to recognize Poser transparency maps? If so, what could I be doing wrong? Heeeeeelp!
