I've heard it done before, and it seems to be a very cool idea...the one I saw is where someone added to it, not changed anything though. Everyone got to add their 'signature touch' to the picture, where everyone put something in that is their specialty of sorts. Yes, we ALL have a Bryce specialty or two, just gotta find 'em. I think it would be a cool little project. Maybe what we could do is download and upload the Bryce file to a central location for easier access. Any ideas? I'd be willing to try it out if others are. MD
It was done here several months ago. The one that was going on then apparently has sort of died out. Not sure why. AS would know more about it and I think Collette. Can't remember any other names that participated. If you search for "toybox" I think you'll find the threads about it. The subject was a toybox in a child's room. Now that I know more about Bryce, I'd love to do something like this. If anyone's interested in getting another one started, I'd be glad to be involved.
Right - I have my own webspace and will quite happily build the asp pages to upload the files to. Im away over the weekend but im taking my laptop so ill work on the asp just in case someone wants to do it - IM/email me and ill get back to you all on monday Im definitely interested in having a go Stash ;0)
Antevark...great suggestions. I like the idea of us listing what we'll do so that we can better judge WHAT to do in the picture. I know I'd sign up for texturing, my modeling isn't at a peak point yet and lighting...I just haven't had the desire to really toy with that yet. I'd like to see how this turns out. MD
One way we can do this is having the main file ready, but we can add what we want in a seperate Bryce scene file and then just merge the files and adjust the placement accordingly, that way the other placements don't get messed up. Plus it can spead up workflow. Anybody agree/disagree? MD PS...of course if you're going to be a texturer, you'd only work w/ the scene file itself.
Yes it was done here before. I hosted some of the images and files. Seems as if it was 9 months ago. Then I reposted the finished products just a few months back. If you're interested I'll dig them up, I probably burned them to archive CD's. I believe there were approx 10 participants for PC and 5 or 6 for Mac. Yes it was called Toybox you can search bryce forum archives for "toy box" or "Group Project" to see what the results were.

Ockham's razor- It's that simple
Liked the Toybox project. Have the link to the site as a favorite, let me know if you want it. Would like to the join this project too. This time, I will just join the mac side. Most of my pictures are done on a mac anyway. Not sure if I have a specialty though. Can drop by my gallery and suggest a specialty.
Is this a Bryce only or not? It's a simple question and a less criptic answer would be appreciated, and since Gog CA1 suggested this in the first place perhaps he/she should be the one to answer. If there are going to be too many restrictions on what we can do then I don't think I'll bother. I m just a bit fed up of being told what to do, it's not a monthly challenge and each person has their own kind of creativity, so if you want a piece of work from each of us it should not be restrictive. Howdy folks, I'm back after my week of rain and wind in cornwall. My view on the idea is use whatever you like as long as everything you do is your own creation and the file you pass on is Bryce. The idea is to stimulate art not smother it. Once life has settled down (give me a week to recover from my holiday :-) ) I'll get something started unless stash wants to post a URL to his asp driven site....

An example - using 4 terrains make the glass as pictured above. (Just an example but you get the idea.) That way if someone drops out you all can keep going. Of course Agent Smith and/or Clay would need to be involved or approve, I would think. - TJ

Any of you ever come across the concept of artistic battles?? You pass pictures back and forth slowly evolving them (take a look at a photoshop battle I've had under projects->battles at the other end of the link). I was wondering if we could do a similar thing with bryce, say each person can add or change 5 items in each pass, see how an image developes. (may end up for those with broadband ony when the file gets large though). Anyone interested????? IM me if you are. (BTW although I'm posting this, I'm off on holiday for a week, so I'll have to catch up when I get back :-)) Sun, Surf, Sand......----------
