This is kind of a dumb question but I've been wondering because I saw the new spiderman show on MTV and the animation is great. Does anyone have any idea how that was made? (software, techniques, etc.) any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks, I'm just curious and would like to create something like that.... serth skippyp3@hotmail.com

Mainframe does the animation. They use XSI from what I've heard. Looks like a combo of mocap and keyframe animation. -Mark

I saw an ep the other day. I have to say I wasn't impressed in the slightest. Whatever cel shader they used was buggy, and didn't create the illusion of 2d in the slightest. I think in that refard they would have been better off with Lightwave. I was actually shocked when I saw Mainframe had done it because the character animation and models weren't up to their susal standards IMO.
