i have a cat. i love my cat. this image is a tribute to her and to thank her for being a great friend. dog lovers won't understand. anyway the image is entitled "Happiness is a Warm Sunbeam". I got the idea for it while lying in bed scrathing the cat's ear. i got the bed from somewhere or other. the cat is the default one from poser. i should add at this point it is a LEGAL copy of poser 3, i got it for free off a magazine's cover CD :] i really want to get the cat curled up but it is really difficult to pose it properly, my attempts end up looking in pain or dead. if anyone can provide me with a curled up cat i'll be insanely grateful. i'm aslo going to add curtains and other bedroom type stuff. FYI: my cat's name is Kit Kat, she black and aged around 19ish (i'm 20 so she is technically my oldest friend) she dribbles when happy and is slightly dotty now in her old age. anyhooo c&c is welcome. I like the frst image best. Add some GI/radiosity and smooth the mesh of the bed. Maybe make the floor softer and add one minimalistic style piece of furniture. This could be a very nise serene minimalistic realistic scene. Maybe something the cat is about to jump onto, like a toy or a mouse.

i want the cat to be curled up

If you study your cat when it lays in the sunbeam, often the head is perked up looking around (albeit lazy) at their surroundings.

Hmm... when I see cats laying in a sunbeam, their head is usually twisted upside down, making their neck look broken. Burgi, does your copy of poser have poses for the cat? Lin

no cat poses :[ i'm trawlling the free stuff as i type this in the hope i can find some. i hate the search software here. more breasts than amstadam's red light district. not that i'm complaining..... John

in my opinion its a little brigth the scene light, myabe - brightnes, the cat looks very well, lovely cat.

On the first image, soften the mesh of the bed will really help much. Besides that - nice work!

Cool work on the lightray, I love volumetrics! :) I'm a big cat lover (my cat's name's Kundry and she's just turned 9), and your rendered cat is lovely. Other said that and they're right: you need to smooth the bed's mesh. S.

Is this kind of what your looking for? I can send you the file if you want? i did the cat in white instead of black because it would take some more tweaking with the lighting to see it as more than just a black blob.:)

wow, the last pic looks amazing, did you try render with simulated global light? and little soft shadows?
