THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: :::EYECON: going... going... GONE!

EYECON ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 6:18 PM · edited Sun, 12 January 2025 at 6:54 AM

Well its been a big 6 months spin for me... i have learned to love this site especially the people behind the kimages and themselves even... i have learned a lot at the forums... i have been encouraged and encouraged others too... but likethey said "for every good thing, there is an end" and this is sadly the end of me... I gues my contest entry was my last real cool render... and i cant do it anymore fo the reason that my computer has final breath its final render. The Techs told me the sad news that i really have to change the motherboard since the bios ROM has been fried out... and that would cost a big amount of money, money which i don't have right now. Im only doing this crazy thing to pour out the sadness and the looming dread that leaves me feeling worthless. I have loved bryce.. and sharing my artwork... no bryce is like telling someone to stop eating, or stop loving... its a sad thing and its much worse that one can imagine.... I guess my only way out is to go back to drawing... my first love... been a long time since i tried to draw anything anyway (except for a few thumbnails of my 3d works). well i do have plans on applying to the big M (MArvel Comics) for a long time now... wish me luck... I'll see you guys when i can... i might keep on postng here at the forum butni guess not that much anymore... eyecon... going... going GONE!

We'll miss you lots EYECON and I'm sorry to hear about your computer :( That's a total bummer hugs but I've got my fingers crossed you'll have good luck at Marvel(prods you into applying now:P) and we'll always be here for you when you return :)

mloates ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 6:47 PM

I've only "known" you a short while, but I know you'll definitely be missed. Never forget your true passions, for without those, life isn't as complete. Best wishes...

brholte ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 6:53 PM

wow... bummer dude. I think everyone here needs to take a moment of silence as we bid farewell to a fellow brycian. Good luck with the Big M.

Your work is really excellent! I hope I won't miss it long and this is just temporary. There are lots of other companies besides Marvel. You should really submit your work to Wizards of the Coast in Seattle Washington. The link is provided. Good luck and God speed.

woodhurst ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 7:00 PM

tcdrushgeddy ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 7:26 PM

don't know your whole story or where you live, but you have internet and a computer. why does this computer failure mean the end? you will find a way to get another machine sooner than you think no? good luck

MadDog31 ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 7:47 PM

Hey Eyecon, Sorry to hear of the bad occurances with the computer. Keep your ears open for people wanting to unload their systems, especially businesses that sometimes sell them away cheap when they upgrade...you'd be surprised what businesses get rid of. I really enjoy the friendship we have on here, I hope you stay in touch and stay tuned to our galleries...I always appreciate the nice comments you leave for my images. I hope to see you return soon. But until then, have a good one buddy! MD

Eyecon, I hope you do pop in here occasionally. Good luck with whatever applications you send out, and hopefully you will get a suitable computer soon. Lin

You can install Bryce on an electric zoo computer, can't you? C'mon, I'm sure they won't mind...

Heavy drink'n might help oh wait thats me. S'ok you go open an account with BestBye one with like 16 mo no paymonths and ye get yer self a puter. But first lets give uncle Vile some details on how the old one went dead even if we have to stay this thread for a month. I am a puter technician and I will tell you right now if you take to shop your gonna get ripped. Lots of things can make a computer stall, shut down, not boot etc. Not just a fried board. How ever they do get a lot of money in labor to replace one for you. Right now I have mine bandaged together with dead fan in the Power Supply. I stitched together with some other fans I had lying around. Let me help you your too good an Artist to give up.

Sad to hear youre leaving man! Especially when youve just recieved a Gold award at Kota Press, not an easy task, and it just goes to show that you have what it takes! I wish you the best with the drawings, naturally, but i also hope to see you around here soon, with a new machine, and new ideas.

Sorry to hear that, Eyecon. Hope to see you back here soon and good luck with Marvel.

catlin_mc ( ) posted Sat, 19 July 2003 at 9:34 AM

Don't give up Eyecon your work is superb and we don't want to lose such a talented Brycer. I wish you well on your applications and I think you should take up Viles offer. Even I can build a computer and you can pick up components very cheap if you look for them. I really do hope things get better for you and that it isn't too long before you're back with us. Cheers 8) Catlin

Doublecrash ( ) posted Sat, 19 July 2003 at 5:01 PM

Eyecon, I'm really sad to hear that. IM me your email address, 'cuz in the short story I wrote to go along with my challenge pic you're there and I'd like you to have it. Hope to see you back here in a blink. S.

squeeka ( ) posted Sat, 19 July 2003 at 5:45 PM

You know, I had an idea... Too bad all of us couldn't chip in like $10-15 and pool the money to get EYECON a new motherboard. New Egg.com has some for around $100 if we only knew what kind he needed. Just a thought but if any of you might want to do it, maybe we can find out what he needs and kind of do something :) Jen ps. I kind of got the idea from the public wishlist thing here :)

Vile ( ) posted Sat, 19 July 2003 at 5:56 PM

I have given eyecon some things to try if he is able to. let's hope they work

Wouldn't it be great if we could all chip in with a $1.00 and help EYECON out....how would we do that, can we do that,..come on guys! His work alone must be worth the effort of our behalf. AS, you're the brains around here........I'm up for a dollar no probs.....

Well, I hope that the offers for help and suggestions for getting your computer back up and running work. I don't want to see you leave... It's like someone in the family moving away knowing contact will be inadequate from now on. Darn these computers anyway!

catlin_mc ( ) posted Sun, 20 July 2003 at 1:13 PM

If Eyecon could accept money through Paypal it would be easy to transfer $10 to him or if not we could perhaps send the money to someone who can, in the US, who could then make a bank transfer to him. AgentSmith you are the brains round here so what would you suggest? Catlin

heloo guys... i manage to get a comp and look at the forums... WOW! i cant imagine that you want to send me money in order for me to buy a new comp... man thats too much! if that would be your plan then instead of giving it away, i may just borrow it, and pay all you guys when i get that sum. i dont have paypal, but you can send it through western union, or my sister in the states, dunno if she has paypal.. but really cant accept it if y'all goin to give it... borrow yes, give... well thats too much to ask, once again i like to thank all of you for your effort... VILE: i tried to look for the bios update, if was a japanes type bios, and there seems to be no update for that type... been looking for a long time now... dang! so i guess it really bye bye mother board... ICM.. tnx for the effort man! i really appreciate it eric

Rayraz ( ) posted Mon, 21 July 2003 at 2:03 PM

What kind of motherboard do you need? I've got one I don't use. I can always send you one. You're to good an artist to quit because of a fried BIOS. If you do buy a motherboard some time try to get a dual-bios one. I can also throw in the money I made with my 'Rosity store. It's not much, but it gets you closer to the price of a motherboard. Do you know how to build one in yourself? That would save a lot of money. I could even start a 'Save eyecons computer'-marketing-campaign with my store.
