Subject: Question about reflecting issue.

I had been playing with reflections on water in volumetric atmosphere for last few days. I can see the reflections of the objects on the water in "Preview camera" and even when I click to open the file in "scene preview". But when I render it (in Broadcast) none of the reflections shows in the picture; except the lights! Didn't try to render in Ultra cuz in Broadcast it took me 11 hrs and already checked the transparency & Reflection values (0, 100). Any suggestion would be appreciated.

It could be the blur is taking effect in the broadcast mode. - Charles

In Night scenes I use little trick to give more reflections to the water. Haven't tried it in day scenes. A tutoeial for it is [HERE](http://www.guitta.net/beginners/glowing.html)

Yes Guitta, that's where I started the whole thing! :-) Charles, thanks, yes that was a problem, but I then made the blur to 0% and set fog to 0% also. Anyway, not an important matter, just thought you guys might have an answer for me! :-) It was a stupid experiment to begin with! :-)

One thing I've found useful is to turn off the anti-aliasing and then render water scenes in Ultra. The anti-aliasing kills all my reflections at the last pass - the darn thing! In Ultra mode, you're usually getting a fine-grained enough render that you can do without the anti-aliasing anyhow. (This is for scenes with volumetric atmoshpheres.) This may not work for your scenes, tho'.

I will give it a try. Thanks for your advice.

Nish, why don't you try a tiny little render (320 x?) to see if it is the anti-aliasing that is the source of your problem. To turn off the anti-aliasing, you need to make a Custom Render, and then select everything as if for Ultra, but de-select the anti-aliasing. Clear enough?

yes, that's what I did, actually just finished the render. came out lot better, I mean LOT better then before. many thanks.

Good for you! Water is a tricky thing, isn't it.

:-) tell me about it!!! I mixed Shasta Water + Channel Water + Mercury with reflection value 100% and transparency value 0% ... weird combination, but it's a weird experiment to begin with! :-)
