July Poser Voting here in this thread!

Ok, the voting is familiar but slightly different this month. Were supposed to base our vote on:

**1)Artistically (creation of some sort of feeling for the viewer), and

  1. Technically (being able to blend Poser into a background and have it look seamless and not a cut an past job.)**

You remember the method, vote by points. 3 points to the best image, two points to the next best and 1 point to the third best. You decide how you want to factor in the artistic/technical considerations and the vote like normal. (We're not doing separate votes, just the regular 3-2-1.) Ill add them up and the highest number of points wins.

Example:

Red 3
Sled 2
Ned 1

Feel free to comment on the pics. And dont forget the Next button because theres 32 images this time!

Midnight on the 24th the voting ends and I'll get the results up. Good luck everyone!

And the results from the UK Jury are.... 23. pstekky 3 points. Technically I think this was the most ambitious and it worked. 12. PointLady 2 points. Look at their faces, great story telling. Is this really rendered in Poser 4 with no postwork! 15. Koushka 1 point. A good picture and that towel really is on the sand. Runner up.... 10. Kcam I want to be there! Again, no postwork- impressive. I had a tendancy to mark the 'monochrome' like pictures down as I think it's easier to hide faults in pictures that consist mostly of one colour. I include pictures like Insom Nia's as 'monochrome' like. Having said that, they are good pictures.

Patricia 3 Tasha 2 Alzartz 1 This was a hard call, they are all so great.

Patricia ( ) posted Tue, 22 July 2003 at 1:52 PM

Wow...I had 6 pics that were so nearly equal in technical proficiency that it was a really tough call. I tried to use the artistic success as the determining factor, except that there were some that succeeded artistically, but had shadows and lighting that didn't match the photo exactly.... In other words, I'M CONFUSED! Oh well, here goes: keesbliz 3 amoen 2 Caly 1

Very very tough. Really amazingly good work by all. 3. Insom Nia-- totally believed the picture was a integral whole 2. Patricia--high artistic content and excellent blending with flowing water a high difficulty. 1. DEWise--depth of field and color blending impeccable. Honorable mention to keesbliz, a magnificent near photographic pic but difficulty level slightly less, full marks for artistic. Emily

Mesh_Magick ( ) posted Wed, 23 July 2003 at 6:12 AM

1 insom nia Because this image has achieved under water effects. 15 Koushka I love the lighting and the bump mapping effects. 12 pointlady the depth of field and the figures merge well in the image.

  1. Caly 3 (A seamless image, I thought for sure it really was a photo, extra marks for fog/mist difficulty `;~) 2. PointLady (Colors, lighting and emotion are a great match!) 1. Keesbliz (Artistically fabulous) Thanks for the great contest! TygerTyger

hauksdottir ( ) posted Wed, 23 July 2003 at 10:34 PM

One thing to note: keesblis' image is not monochromatic. (The sky is bluish, the rocks to the figure's right are reddish, and the trees are greenish.) There are some subtleties involved here... I don't think it is simply a graduated adjustment layer. Carolly

kleesbliz - 3 Patricia - 2 TH - 1 So hard to vote, really I thought they all had some great techniques and artistry.

Here is my vote
Amoen -3 great lighting and blend
LadyFire_Ice -2 nice blend and background
Wallax-1 I liked how the model blended behind the waterfall

Honorable mention to Quattro626 simply because it's mine and my first ever entry...hehe.

Moyer ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 12:30 PM

Here's my vote: 3 Terrielee - lots of detail and the child's feet are great! However, the cat looks mad. 2 Pstekky - what's not to love about gremlins in a pool on a hot summer's day. Was the grass color intentional? Just what it looks like in August. 1 Patricia - liked the mist, but the clothes didn't seem to be as wet as the hair.
