Where would I get a texture to turn V3 into a guy or should i just buy Michael 2?

There's several textures and morphpacks available both here and at Daz to "turn V3 into a guy" They are varyingly successful-- Ghost of Macbeth has an excellent set at Daz, Jepe has a good set here-- its hairy but ultimately without a lot of work, V3Male is well, slim, young, wiry but never quite hulky-- there are exceptions but I don't find them terribly convincing. On the other hand Mike 2 is very Mike 2, square jawed and dudly do right-- there are some killer textures for him by the very best texturers around and more importantly there is much more clothing in more of a range than for V3Male who has a dress/robe a pair of pants, a coat, 2 t-shirts and a cape. There will probably be an upgrade from Mike 2 to Mike 3 as well. And Mike 2 takes up less poly room in your renders. Emily

Queri - Mike 2 is much more versatile than you give him credit for. I made a very convincing likeness of Bowie and one of myself, and we're pretty far away from the big stocky guy everyone associates with Mike. You just have to play with the dials a little.

I know he is, SamT but on first acquaintance he's pretty square. :)) I was generalising -- maybe too much-- but for types and deciding between V3Male and Mike2 I don't think I was that far off. I actually prefer Mike2, but haven't had the time or the computer stability to play with V3Male or Vincent as he wishes to be called. It's been too hot here to work most programs. Emily

RDNA has some really nice textures, maps, and accessories for the V3 male. You can even get an accessory to turn him into a REAL male, if you get my meaning, and the extra genital prop is fully posable and scalable; it's much nicer than Mike's equipment, IMHO). I do like Michael, but he's hard to use for some purposes. That lantern jaw and the massive shoulders kind of limit him to a certain "look". With a fair bit of work, you can scale him down and so on, but like Queri says, "out of the box" he's pretty square. ;) bonni

Heres a little comparison for you. On the right is V3, and the left is M2. Mike has never been able to do a slender build very well, the shoulder always stick out too far. V3 does a very good slender build, but on the hand V3 cant do a heavy male at all. Mike does a heavy male quite well. Both figures have their place. If I were you, Id wait for Mike 3.

Ghost V3 Male Pack is lovely. http://secure.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1324 But my favourite is Anton's texture that comes in the Victoria 3 Male Morph Pak :) http://secure.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1143

I'm just curious to know if anyone is working on a V3 Male clothing pack? I know he has lots of catsuits and that sort of thing, but some button down shirts and normal people clothes would make go a long way towards making the V3 male a more universal character. I kind of get the feeling though that Mike3's imminent release is going to overshadow the V3 male's potential. Any thoughts on this?

I think, just like they went overboard on V3 they will go sorta overboard on Mike3-- it would be a refreshing change to tell you the truth. The only prob is-- Poser 5 can barely run V3, I don't know what it's gonna do with Two top heavy polys. But it will be nice to see a flood of Mike clothes in the Platinum Club. Emily Still good to get some Mike for the upgrade, I would think. And even for awhile there will be more mike2 textures and clothing than Mike 3. I expect the Universal texture converter to take care of Mike 2 to 3 but I've also been waiting ofr it to do Mike 2 to V3Male and so far nothing maybe too hard a jump.

sbertram - I have a clothing pack over at Daz for the V3Male (and it fits V3 as well :) ) If you take away the Matrixy style jacket and the heavy duty boots, there is singlet & pants that could be used for casual wear.

There are also 2 male textures for V3 in my free stuff - originally created for V2 by JS (3Dream). I do like the texture that comes with the male morph pack, too. And I do like what you can do with the faces on V3 male, but I don't have Mike, so I can't compare between the 2. :)

Bishonen for Mike is a wonderful slender character. I saved a LOT of money by not getting the V3 male morphs. Heh. There's some really nice stuff for him that I can't get 'cause I have no way to use it.
