THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: A Tree, a tree, a tree, a tree, a tree............

Zhann ( ) posted Wed, 23 July 2003 at 11:01 PM · edited Sun, 02 February 2025 at 5:45 PM

Does anyone know if you can export a tree? I know you can save the settings, and I remember downloading a .bto file, but for the life of me, I can't find anywhere to save a tree as .bto and export it....

With your tree up on the screen, AND selected, press and hold down the Ctrl keyboard button and left click the create tree icon. A Save As window will pop up. AgentSmith

Cool solution AS. :)

Aldaron ( ) posted Wed, 23 July 2003 at 11:59 PM

Once saved it will be in your bryce/presets/trees folder. That's the only way to trade trees except wrinting out the settings. When saving I always have to make sure the name has .bto at the end before saving it, for some reason if I just type a name it doesn't automatically add the .bto to the end of the file name.

AgentSmith ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 1:26 AM

Ah, good point. Another fact is the material seeting that are on your tree, cannot be exported with the .bto ;o( Least, that's what I have read/heard.

MuddyGrub ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 1:30 AM

Woohoo. Great tip. That means I can put my penis tree in the marketplace, or not.

antevark ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 2:43 AM

lol, you should do that, MuddyGrub. Might be interesting to see how many people download it... Still can't believe you didn't see it before someone pointed it out...

MuddyGrub ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 3:02 AM

lol. Charge a quarter?

danamo ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 4:13 AM

Omigod! If MuddyGrub can do that with the treelab, I shudder to think what he may do with Madmax's "pipe plug-in"!

Ang25 ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 6:38 AM

ROLFLMAO, Hey MuddyGrub did you get any requests for the settings on that tree? I thought it was great but didn't think to ask you for it. Never know when a prickly tree might come in handy. :-D

Oh yea, people were lined up at my door wanting that tree... Cha Ching $$$.

lol @ danamo.

I know I ruin my chances of being a gabillionaire by posting this in public... anything for the good of the community though.

dan whiteside ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 11:29 AM

Just to be sure, .bto export only works with the 5.0.1 update and (for me at least) the leaf textures don't transfer but the trunk does. Best; Dan

pakled ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 11:51 AM

Genesis- Supper's Ready..;). As long as the tree is not in an 'aro*sed' state, or longer than 4" (Poser thread, but couldn't resist..;) maybe it's a prickly pear..;)

Ang25 ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 12:03 PM

LMAO pakled, we'll have to be very careful with this tree, also it should only be touching clothing or inanimate objects too :-D LOL is there really an inch limit in poser? Or are you making that up.

danamo ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 1:00 PM

Maybe we should put MuddyGrub's tree next to a rubber tree. then we'll all be protected!

AgentSmith ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 5:49 PM

One penis tree in my Bryce is better than two in the bush.

That's not right.

danamo ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 11:21 PM

By the way MuddyGrub, you never specified whether the "penis tree" was a hardwood, or a softwood species.

AgentSmith ( ) posted Fri, 25 July 2003 at 12:06 AM

It's an offshoot of the pussywillow family.

lol You all are crazy. Btw AgentSmith, feel free to use it in the new Bryce logo, or not. lol

AgentSmith ( ) posted Fri, 25 July 2003 at 1:17 AM

You realize any female's that replicate your penis tree, will keep it hidden, and tell no one they have it, and all the male's will finally, with the click of a mouse button, be able to make it as large as they want.

Hey Catlin, is it me or has the Bryster stayed completely out of this thread? Maybe he prefers bushes to trees :-D.

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Fri, 25 July 2003 at 8:36 PM

(cackles!) What a bunch of silly people! (humans!!) Well now that I got the tree-saving deal down, AgentSmith do you have a link to an old thread about custom leaf types? I missed it, or thought I had it memorized or whatever, but alas...

AgentSmith ( ) posted Sat, 26 July 2003 at 12:46 AM

Custom how? You mean like photo textures? AS

That's all I meant, didn't mean to get off topic. I remember the money tree, and I was curious how to set up the image files to make that work. Don't sweat it, I'll dig through the search engine here instead...
