Zahnn's textures are used pretty much in everything in some shape or form combined with DTE. The flying creatures in the distance are just trees. I think I'd like them a bit less chaotic? What else should I improve here?

This is so cool looking. Really? flying trees? What a great special effect.

STUNNING! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! I suggest changing the repetative texture over in the distance and also the top rock on which the creature is lying. it's just too... unrealistic. aside from that.... o_O awesome! Drac

i think the top of the rock is meant to look like a towel or cloth, isn't it? Looks awesome, i agree about the texture on the wall that looks like it's tiled or something, it's distracting from the really beautiful points.

Flat-out fantastic! I never, EVER, thought of using trees to simulate flocks of "flying creatures". It looks great! I watched a huge flock of starlings yesterday and they swarmed in just such patterns, as do bats. The whole scene is stunning and I think you made great choices.

Looks stunning to me too! 8)

I don't think you should change anything, I like the different textures on the rocks. This is a really neat pic! Lin

Thanks everyone! In responce... Yep, that's supposed to be a blanket under the creature. I did a towel in Poser and it looks alot better, but for a bryce challenge I want to limit it to a bryce terrain. The towel texture, as well as the rocks and plants are all Zahnn's textures. I'll experiment with bump to see if I can get it to look more like a blanket Great call on the far wall. I'll try a few variations, as well as eliminating it all together. I purposely used a very low quality compression to post to the forum, didnt want a huge file. TheBryster, got a link to the wizard? I'd like to take a looksee. And finally, yes those are trees with the trunks invisible. This is can also be used for debri as well as a windblown effect, example, a fall picture with leaves blowing. Oh, and the creature's hair is a one-leafed palm tree lol. Thanks again for your input. What a great forum!

Wow! I'm impressed. Excellent artwork. beautifull composition and very nice textures. I agree with drac about the repetitive textures. I like the texture on the rock on wich the creature is lying though. Maybe the rock itself needs to be a little more eroded.

Nicely done. I'd agree about the blanket--it just doesn't seem to mesh well with the rest of the scene. But great work!

Doublecrash ( ) posted Sat, 26 July 2003 at 10:26 AM

Wonderful idea using trees like this!

Ang25 ( ) posted Sat, 26 July 2003 at 11:19 AM

I love that creatures hair, I would never have thought it to be a leaf. Very creative. Would you mind telling me how you make the trunks invisible? Thanks. Angela

MuddyGrub ( ) posted Sat, 26 July 2003 at 11:42 AM

Ang25, in the treelab, click the edit button to edit the trunk's texture. Set the transparency to 100% and make sure it's set to "blend transparency".
