Can someone tell me how to get the hair to conform to the pose, such as hanging down when a model is leaning over and stuff like that?

I think it was Darth Logice that came up with a "gravity" trick. I don't remember seeing the thread or a tutorial, but I probably just missed it

I found a thread with some info on the technique. Traveler explains "You add a square prop, make it huge, then make it invisible. Hide it or make it totally transparent. -Select the middle and/or lower part of the hair and then object-->Point at (choose the square) now the hair will always point at the square prop, acting like gravity."

might try the point at feature ... oh and i have had some success using balls(or boxes or whatever) as dummy targets to point at, you can parent the dummy to body parts such as the collar but have the dummy in a different location... and another thing, the object will point at the origon of the object which isnt always on or near the object itself.. oh this is assuming your animating the figure else just pose it by hand or morph it

Nope, haven't done any animation yet.But I do put my figures in some odd positions, and I want them to look real,so the hair needs to hang, or bolw in the wind, or whatever it would naturally do

Darth_Logice discovered how to fake gravity in Poser4. Basically, what you do is add a sphere primative to your image and scale it waaaaay up (I use 1000%). Then drop it down on the y-axis so it's far underneath the ground-plane. Then you simply use "point_at" for the hair, pointing it at the sphere. You'll need to tweak the value for Point At - the default setting of 1 can have some very wierd effects in some poses. This works best on conforming hair, it's not too succesful with the static hair props - although with the longer styles and a very low point at setting, it does work well. Paul
