I'm almost finished with this and I want to render a slightly bigger version, but I need some input first as to which version y'all think I should go with. This here is version one....

and here's version 2

Oh, and any other suggestions you might make are welcome, too! Thanks!

i like the first, personally.

Version 2 I think only because it's easier to see the different textures. BTW, could you tell us which textures are for the challenge? Catlin

Either or, very cool though. Looks almost translucent.

Once again having a crappy monitor or maybe its my eyes, I can't see any difference between 1 and 2. :( They are both interesting, the sky is really cool looking and I like the way the eggish things are glowing. Very unique textures.

Number 2 gets my vote, cool glowing things!

Hard to see the difference on this monitor, but version 2 seems to be a bit brighter and it's slightly easier to see the darker textures. I'll go with version 2.

The glowing eggs are cool. Are they eggs?

Thank you all for your input! The consensus seems to be for #2. Caitlin, all of the materials in the image are for the challenge, since there are only 5 materials in the image (I'm counting the blue and pink balls as one, since they're variations of each other). From left to right in the image attached they are: the ground the glowing things the spiral thingies the nebula the stars Rayraz - I had plants in mind when I made the glowing things, that's why they're kinda veiny, but I suppose they could be eggs. I'm not really sure what they are. Oh, just as a sidenote, this image started out as a meadow with a farmhouse. I'm not really sure what happened....

lsstrout ( ) posted Mon, 28 July 2003 at 3:55 PM

The farmhouse is off to the left. This is one of the animal pens where the eggs are left to hatch. ;) I like number 2 also, neat image. Lin

I think your animal pens are lovely, I just wonder what will hatch from the eggs. 8) Catlin

Something about this reminds me of the "nightmare before xmas" movie. Not sure if I got the movie name right. Maybe those dark curly things. Funny how things change. My challenge began as a nudist beach, lol. I could see where those glowing things could be fungus. Angela
