hi, a client of mine owns a performance car yard. he is currently looking at a large graphic to be placed on a blank wall. he is wanting something along the lines of the fast and the furious movie. i have done a pretty extensive search of stock photography and found nothing suitable as yet. i did indicate to him the possibility of composing a 3D image and he is very interested. i am needing a 3d model(s) (along the lines of the porsche GT2 in the marketplace) that i can render using poser. if anyone knows of some good sources for performance car models it would be greatly appreciated. cheers. mike

Online Now!

turbosquid have tons of models - very very very overpriced expensive ones, but they'll probably have what you need. Love esther

duddly has several high quality model cars. I know some other modelers here also have cars. Turbosquid.com is a place where you can find what you want but the price is astronomical. Look for cars in the market place then contact the merchant and see if they have any other vehicles available. DAZ3d.com also has some cars. You may get this question answered faster in the Rhino, Softimage, modeling, and amapi forums.

by the way, I think you are on the right track. There are some fantastic render capabilities of Maya, Softimage, Max, and EIU.

There are tons of car models out there that can be imported into poser. if you find the model and it's free, email the author and see if you can use it commercially for the wall, most will be happy to let you, some won't but it's worth the time. Planit3D has a bunch of cars that could be textured with the right look from the movie. check out the cars and play with them. it's a start anyway.

fantastic. thanks for your responses. i shall have a look at all links/merchants mentioned. commercial use of the model is a must, and the client has a reasonable budget which is great. i shall keep you posted on my progress! thanks again. mike

I have several vehicles in my store, and can do custom work, if you need something else. My fees for custom work are quite reasonable.

hi lwanmtr, yes i love your 911 GT2!! i have forwarded a thumbnail to my client and he seems quite impressed. i am going in tomorrow to photograph a mitsubishi EVO he has in at the moment. our weather is crap here at the moment, so i am a bit worried about lighting etc. question: what background did you use for the white rose render (the streetscape) is this rendered or 2 dimensional? something like that would be perfect as a background. mike

Is that anything like an Eclipse or 3000? The scene for White Rose (and all my stuff) is 3D, rendered in Lightwave3D. (k, so Silver Skin and Death Mistress aren't..heh) Contact me via email (lwanmtr@earthlink.net) if you wish to discuss custom work, etc... or icq 165284288
