Subject: MAT Pose problems?

I'm having troubles with a MAT pose I made in MAT Pose Edit 2.0.3. I can't figure out where I goofed in making it. It renders just fine. I was planning on offering this as a freebie but I don't want people freaking out if they see this. Macey

macey, Could you post the MAT script so we can see it? Just open it in notepad, copy and paste it. Or failing that, mail it and I'll look. The thing is, it looks as though the texture was made for another figure. Are you sure the correct texture is in the MAT file? mac

I used the correct template. And as I said before it renders just fine. It just doesn't look it if you have textures on while putting the image together. Here is the preview with texture and a rendered version side by side. And as you can see it renders fine. So I don't know where I goofed. This is V3 and the template I used was for V3. The eyebrows are handpainted on the texture so there is no eyebrows with transparenty on them. If you want I can still send you the pose file.

macey, Your MAT appears to be perfect. Nothing missing or out of place. Just one thing I would suggest is that your texture paths aren't quite correct, but this has nothing to do with the MAT not working. You have textureMap "F:Program FilesMetaCreationsPoser 4RuntimetexturesMaceFiles1BODY.jpg" This should read textureMap ":RuntimetexturesMaceFiles1BODY.jpg" At least, that if it was being distributed, since not everyone has a drive F with poser on it. But anyway, that's a minor point and nothing to do with anything. Let me try this MAT with another map name and I'll see what I get. Back soon mac

OK macey, Here's what I got. And here's what I did. I copied your MAT info and changed the texture paths to point to my Runtime. I then made copies of the vicki 3 default head and body maps and bump maps and renamed to '1HEAD.jpg', etc, to match your MAT. I cut out the eyes/teeth texture paths from the MAT. They're not going to make a major difference, and I couldn't be bother copying all the extra maps. I applied your MAT and got a perfect vicki in preview and render. So I'm now stumped. But I don't think it's the MAT file. I did a search and replace in the MAT, changing textureMap "F:Program FilesMetaCreationsPoser 4RuntimetexturesMaceFiles to this textureMap ":Runtimetextures so that the MAT took the texs directly from my texture folder. Mayve you could try that. Save the MAT under a new name just in case. Other possible solutions The texture is on the wrong figure. Your document window settings are not on full texture mode. The map itself has a mistake in it. Um.... well, I can't think of anything else at the moment. mac

Maclean, Thank you very much for your help. Thanks for pointing out the MAT pose texture pointing descrepency. I'll get right to that. After a little bit of playing and trying what you did and used a DAZ v3 Texture, I decided to try something that had been on my mind. It turned out my texture was just too big in dimmension. I resized it and it previewed just fine. Thanks again. A very grateful, Macey
