And another thing, Marilyn went through several small changes in her short duration here on Earth. She had at least one nose job, possibly more, and her head refuses to remain one shape, so What I have done is aimed for a middle ground, melding several eras into one unifigure. I have also made a working model of her hair combinging the "Stripper Hair" and Allie's Transmapped curly hair which gets the shape right, but doesn't curl on the sides as much as I'd like...so the cheesy photoshop twirls are temporary until I can get her hair's sides to render curly properly. So there!

It's her.... Like a candle in the wind.... Scarab

She commented once that she didn't like her face and was never satisfied with it. I guess we all see ourselves differently than others do. Very nice likeness, Darth. Melanie

I still don't see it. Maybe if you made her smile. You model looks really mean.

Very nice... That's a very good rendition of Marilyn Monroe. :) I have only one criticism: Her eyelashes make her look like Tammy Faye Bakker with about 10 lbs. of mascara. ;) It's the part that's under the eyes that's the real offender here. The part over the eyes is OK. mr_sanity

i like her! BUT her chin just needs to be a little rounder and its dead on!

Darth_Logice ( ) posted Fri, 07 July 2000 at 2:52 AM

The Model, blau,is set in neutral, as she is depicted in a couple of pictures in the collage. The smile dial will take care of that when it's time for her to emote. Will work on the chin :) The lashes, yeah, I tried to fix it in post. Just a matter of tweaking the transmap really. -Darth

I think you should try an old trick of looking at your creation in a mirror. That can give you a different view than you're used to and you may see the subtle changes you need to make her as perfect a likness as possible. As an objective observer, I can see Marilyn emerging, but she's not quite there. Portraiture is a very subtle art. I did pastel chalk portraits from photos, when I was using normal media. It's not as simple as it seems. I'm going to try to extend my portraiture to Poser in the not so distant future. I think it would really be a challenge. Meanwhile, you've got a good start.

That's very very close Darth, a very close likeness indeed. I agree that the chin needs to be slightly more rounded, but that is excellent Paul

You've got her "original" nose (or at least the one from most of the pictures, including her brunette one) right, but I think your face is too wide/broad. It just doesn't look RIGHT. Close, but not RIGHT, if you see what I'm saying? Great work on the hair (that's what made me think your first picture WAS Marilyn, BTW)- is that post render, or a prop?

CB - read about the hair in what I wrote in the second entry to this thread. Allie, You're right about the nose, but...lol...I don't like that nose, she looks like Michael Jackson with that nose. CB - the face width doesn't look right only because the hairline is too low on the forhead. When I raise that, it will look more slender/ righter. All tweaking will be done. When I get the basic neutral face perfect, I hope to do some morphs to include for Marilyn specific smiles, because the default dials aren't cutting it. They turn her into the Joker from Batman. Plus, her custom squint. -Darth

You're right about the hair being too low. Shifting it up should fix it to be a very good likeness. The upper lip might be a tad too thick though, not sure...
