I tried rendering an image using indirect lighting, the full raytracing feature with raytraced soft shadows, and light through transparency. most of the image looks fine except for a few of the shadows. all of my detail setting where set at the highest and I can't figure out why there is pixelization in a few of the shadows. I know its not the texture map, that holds up fine but some of the shadows have pixelization. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks.

Were the shadows being cast by hair or lashes? I've noticed that in some of the pictures I've tried rendering as well. Then I remember reading a post or maybe it was a tutorial that mentioned something about it. Basically it said to check the "interpolation" box in the shader where you have your transparency map set. I can't remember where I read that or I'd point you there, but it seemed to work for me.

Thanks for the info, I just tried that, it did help but there is still pixelization. Any other suggestions?

I've done quite a few studies on the new soft shadows. Make sure you turn up the settings in the shadow options for the light source. I get similar results with what you have when they're set to default. -Kix
