Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 8:11 am)
The content CD which comes with Poser 4 has the uv maps for everything EXCEPT the P4 formal dress. Symphony did a remapped version of the dress which is preferred by many people because it is cylindrical rather than flat (only 1 seam to match). Seam guides for most of the figures have been done by Snow Sultan over the years (check under Free Stuff). A "seam guide" is the flat uv map for the figure which has colored areas along the edges to make joining them easier. This is essential for clothing with patterns or fancy border designs, but is also very helpful for skin textures where you might want a tattoo or makeup or even "painted on" hosery and gloves. The P4 figures were probably recommended to you because the heads are on the same maps and it is easier to keep the overall skin tone the same. Hope this helps, Carolly
Seam Guide...got it lol thanks didn't even know what they were called! Thank you for letting me know I have them, but I still don't know where to find them so I can load them into psp if you wouldn't mind leading me to them that would be great! Thank again, oh yeah and I am pretty sure taht is why is was recommended to start the seperate head and body were making things hard on me anyway lol.
Have fun now that you found them! You can do socks with all the toes different colors, or superhero body suits, or a paint job like Mystique with blue scales all over it. If you also have Dacort's P4 mermaid and merman tails (free stuff) you can match the blend zones. Do you remember Ankh-su-namen from The Mummy? Sabine did a beautiful job of painting that skin texture. Once you are comfortable matching and blending with these figures, you can go on to do anything. Carolly

Okay I know I've read this answer before. Sorry guys. I wan't to try doing textures, was advised to stick to posette. Ok cool good starting point........where do I find her map???? Am I going to have to use uv mapper for each figure (oh geez please say no lol) I could have sworn I seen the thing to do the textures on somewhere in my vast files but can't find it so now I'm wondering if I've been searching around for no reason. Thanks for the help.
