Is that the 3D light cone filter that makes the light ray effect? I have Carrara and RDS but I've never been able to make either one do light rays that look that good. This is a really nice image. If I had to nitpick about the only thing I could suggest is that maybe the light rays should be more parallel.
Very nice image! Great modelling! I'd agree, a spot of color would be nice, and you have the perfect opportunity for it in the stained-glass window in the rear of the cathedral. I'd move your light-cone sources away from the camera so the cones are streaming more toward us and to justify adding the color information in your stained glass window to the glow channel. I don't think you'd need colored light cones coming through the stained-glass; maybe a bit of an aura filter, though, to give it more punch.
Naz.... Great image! I agree with the others on a little color in there from the stained glass window. I did a scene with a stained glass window with light shining through. Search the Carrara Gallery under my username to see it. If you want some ideas how It did it just lemme know.... HG... P.S. Sorry to everyone for not being around mush lately or doing any work - my wife has decided to start an internet business and I have been very busy designing her site and helping her with business decisions.... Will jump back into the fray when I can!
I actually prefer the black and white with just a splash of color in the stained glass in the background. My vote is no more color. The only thing that stands out to me is the repeating texture. Water stains every fifth block breaks the illusion for me. Try building a bigger texture with less repeated pattern. Overall a great picture. Captures a mood, I can hear the monks chanting the echoing footsteps already. Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Freeware and commercial 3D extensions http://digitalcarversguild.com
