You can create text with the help of latticse, but the easiest way is a small free app called Elefont. Heres a URL.

Hey ortablaze, besides importing a picture with text on it into Bryce's terrain editor, ther are several programs out there that can do this. A great little dedicated program for doing this is Elefont, by Armanisoft. It's free, it works with any TrueType font, it's dead simple to use, and it works great. Just do a google search for Elefont.

Thanks Rochr, I was slow on the draw there.

I use Ray Dream Studio, it has a text-maker, uses True-Type fonts, can bevel or chamfer either inside or outside or front/back edges, and can export in just about any format. Just an idea for you!

You might have seen posts about another freeware program called Wings3D...it allows you to do text with any font on your computer as well.

Elefont is the more versitile of the 2, but then it's designed for this..Wings will do 3d fonts as well. Elefont exports as a .dxf file (maybe other formats, but I was looking for .3ds), but I've been able to do the Stargate font in it (in .dxf..maybe I need to drag it to Anim8tor [another free modeller, we're knee deep in them.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit
