Subject: Managing Poser5 libraries

My Poser 5 libraries are a mess. In addition, I can't use a lot of the freebees available, because the files don't extract to the proper folders. I would put the files into the proper folders myself, but I don't know where they go!
I learned about the pBoost utility from this forum, but unfortunately, it's not for Poser5.
I would like to learn where the various files are supposed to go so I can try to organize my libraries better. I've searched and can't find any tutorials on managing Poser libraries, or tutorials that explain what files go where. Can anyone provide me with some links or suggestions? Thanks!
LindaB

Dr Geep posted a tutorial in the thread linked above - it's for P4 but you should find the folders are the same :)

Thanks for the link! I found the info I needed with one of the links in that thread. There is so much to learn with Poser. I've been at it for years (sporadically), and I still feel like a beginner. LindaB

One tip about installing product is to: 1.) Intall/extract them to an empty folder. This will give you a great view of whats going in! 2.) Realize the Geometries and textures folders can not be changed, as they are are refered to by .pz3 and .cr2 files. 3.) That the other folder can all be renamed to the same thing! Many sets/products come with library sets that do'nt have the same name, and/or names that just are'nt that easy to remember. 4.) Once you've changed the names of the folders, just copy that "Runtime" folder into your installation directory. You'll know you didi it right if you get a message saying "There is alread a Runtime, do you want to overwrite?" To which you click yes. There may be one more "Overwrite" prompt. If there is click yes to it also.
