taken today in cambridge, was very bright and struggled to see the lcd on the digi. these were taken in colour (iso 64) and converted to b&w because it seemed to work better.

The POV of the first one is fantastic and the last one is a great concept and realization of B&W with color. The third, well it seems too cut in half. if there were clouds it might help or apply the rule of thirds. The second one is good but doesn't move me. But agin that first one, well... it ROCKS! Nice images Firestorm great presentation I like number 3 it has a strange perspective about it you look at the left side it seem flat and than the right gives it depth very interesting, if I had a suggestion I would clone out the building works barriers. :0 )

#1 is sweet. I like #2, but think with a slightly different angle it could be great. Hmmm... dunno about the color on #4. That kind of effect usually draws your attention heavily to something you want to see ... dunno if there's any real interest in the banner. At least, for me. -=>Donald

Huh! The Number 2 is a really good shot indeed!Nice work. I like the slow-moving water and the B/W is really good... a (personal) advice: you should compress more the tonal range of the B/W shots... it's an easy way to supercharge the mood of some shots... like the number 2 and no. 3. Anyway... this is my personal taste...

#1 and 2 do if for me....especially #1..... agree with Donald on #4 and the color...not sure if it's effective. And #3 seems ok to me, but it doesn't excite me in any way... :~) Thanks for sharing these! Are you taking these on color film and converting to BW?

hi, thanks for the input. with #1 i just caught a glimpse of it on the lcd as i was putting the camera away so i thought why not!! with #2 i was trying to get words into the photo - something i'm now trying to do with most of my urban type photography - i may try that from a different angle at a later date. #3 i took because of the contrast in shapes. - could try again with a different perspective #4 (lol) was purely an exercise in selective colouring - ok, the banner is nothing to get excited about...lol...but it was a learning process. michele, these were taken in colour on the digi and desaturated. if i was shooting film they would have been b&w.
