Subject: exporting morphs?

Just tried to Export the Sugar-Head-morph target from Ikyotos new Sugar-Millie. I unchecked all in Hierarchy Selection, then checked the head again and did an export as morh target. then loaded an other Millie, did a "Load Morph Target" from Object menue. the new Morph dial appears, but has no effect. What did i wrong? Rolfi

You need to have the MT dial set to 1 to get the MT to export at 'full strength'. Other then that, it looks like your method should work fine. Something of a dilemma here if the MT is actually made up of several targets. Since the exported .obj is the result of all of the selected MTs you'll only get a single dial when you import it. You can export each one seperately by setting one of them to 1 with the rest set to 0 then cycle through the rest one at a time this way.

the MT dial was set to 1 before the export, and it also was a single dial before, all others were set to 0.

maybe i have to check/uncheck other combination in the selection window, in which i set "export as Morph Target" ?

ah, made it, just unchecked all things except export as morph target, now it works great, thx again for your answer, bushi

Now that's strange. Although I do the same thing (uncheck everything but export as MT), it makes no sense to me why having the other boxes checked would be a problem. All that the other boxes do is add different flavors of group names to the exported .obj. That stuff should be ignored when the MT is applied. The only other option is the weld but even that shouldn't cause the problem you where having. Hmmm ... may have to look into this one.

i'm not an expert on Obj, but i also assumed, that the weld causes the problems

it may be easier to use Morph Manager available in the utilities section of free stuff to move the morphs to a new figure ... :O)

Y'all have a great day.
