Don't forget that Vue only starts still. For a long time there was only one program in this field - Bryce. That's why there are only some books available for Bryce, but none for Vue. Don't forget as well, that Bryce or Vue are only programs pricely on the low end, even when their possibilities and render quality are not. So everybody is looking after the stars of the 3D world: LW, Cinema, Maya, 3DS, Softimage etc. Even when it doesn't make so much sense because there are a lot more users of this "cheap" programs. But why are you not writing a book? "My learning curve of Vue from 0 on"? Maybe that would be an interesting project. lol, Walther
One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
Hi Mark, welcome to the forum. (Weather a bit cooler here in the NW today, at least.) I think part of the answer also is that the products you and Wabe mentioned are at the heavyweight end of the market - not only in price, but also in complexity, so the need for additional training publications is probably greater. If you follow Guitta's advice on the tutorials and also have a browse through the back threads of the forum, I'm sure you will find the answer to most problems you may come across. Failing that, just post a specific question here and someone will almost certainly have the answer. Of course there's always the manual as well... Yeah, I know that's the last thing that most people like to open, but the Vue manual really is quite good on explaining the basic tools, and also has a nice selection of tutorials at the back to get you going.
Has anyone ever used the training software from VTC.com. Virtual Training Company makes great training software. I've used them for learning many new software programs. They have a training CD for Bryce 5 , Poser 3/4 and other 3D programs. I emailed them and asked them if they could do a training CD for Vue and Poser 5. Maybe if they had more emails requesting training for Vue they would create something.
Wow, been busy for a few days and only just got back to this forum. All comments much appreciated. I know what I want 'cos our company makes it for internal use in large companies. I'll chat to my business partners about doing something stripped down (and cheaper!) for Vue. Hmmmm, food for thought.
Cheers,
Mark

My background is training in the web / 2D commercial environment. Dabbling with 3D creative apps and it's a real challenge. Vue, however, is superb although I'm still very much a newbie. This particular forum has a great atmosphere (pun unintenetional;-)) which encouraged me to buy the software. What puzzles me is the lack of training materials for so many of the 3D apps. Where are the books and CD's? They're around for 3DS and LW why not for Vue. Am I missing something here?
Cheers,
Mark
