Subject: Please help

I have Photoshop 7 and am trying to turn a normal picture (photo or otherwise) into a picture made of squares. Each square is a solid colour. Hope this makes some sense. e.g. XXX X X X X X X X X X XXX X X X XXX Doubt that helps.. Thank you kindly for any help you can give.

i think u can do it with the help of masking..... if i'd understand ur e.g. kedar

You mean something like this? This is done by making the file 24% of it's original size and re-sizing it back with 'nearest neighbour' (or something called like that) as interpolation method. When you want a real pixelated look, drawing by hand will get you better results. But it can be a start.
