Nope, Poser does not take advantage of any 3d accelerations. It's strictly a processor, memory hogger. You won't get any faster whether you are using a 256 MB GEForce5 or a 4 Mb ATI. I'd save my money and buy faster and more memory, a fast hard drive and a fast processor.

It all depends on what you can afford. I had a budget, so my machine is an AMD XP2800 with 1 Gb of PC3200 DDR memory. My video card is onboard (nForce MoBo). I allocated 32Mb to the video. My Hard drive is 120MB ATA133 7200 RPM. It's running pretty smoothly with P4 propack. Even Vue renders are pretty speedy. BTW I have Win2K as the OS.
