OH!! OH!! A cat that looks like....A CAT! Oh, I can't wait!! (drool). I'm a cat lover from birth ;o). I have always had one and right now I have two, a regular old garden variety alley cat (but gorgeous) named Simba and a little, beautiful and extremely gentle Himalyan purebred. My babies :o). So?? who here is a cat lover as well?;)

I currently have three of the little cadgers sharing my den space. One is curled up in the keyboard drawer, sleeping mere inches away, while I type this.

And yes, I'm trying to type quietly ....

Love the animation!! Oh, she looks great! It's almost 2am and my 14-year-old cat is bouncing around over chairs, on tables, behind the couch, chasing a moth! LOL

igohigh ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 12:56 AM

Wow, keep that 'sleek' look in the first pic, he could almost be one of those Egyptian temple cats!! (sorry, don't know what their called)

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 1:11 AM

Abyssinian. Mimic compatibility already built-in, eh? Excellent. That will save me some time. :)

LaurieA ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 1:28 AM

Oh neftis you are killing me with all these teases!! I WANT, I WANT, I WANT!!! LOL ;o) Laurie

igohigh ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 1:37 AM

Ya, what Little_Dragon said....Aby whats-it!! Could really use one of those!

sithgoblin ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 2:18 AM

Oh wow! I'm a cat lover as well, this looks really great!! Will it be able to do big cats as well, or just domestic cats? Either way it's certinally looking good!

Puntomaus ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 3:53 AM

Yay, that's cooooool :-). I have five kitties running around in my house and this MilCat finally looks like a cat. Love it in the first image and the third one in the second.

Mesh_Magick ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 5:46 AM

This is very cool please post him with a texture so we can seem in kitty garb.

Michael_C ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 7:01 AM

The face and body look good. What about the ears? Even while our cat Zoe sits still her ears turn independently left and right and even nearly backwards following sounds. Her ears are a little smaller than the Poser cat as well.

I'd post a picture of one of my WIP textures for it but I'm not sure I'm allowed.

ahhhhhhh that's a gorgeous cat, I cannot wait for it to come out!!

sithgoblin ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 8:58 AM

I hope D|S or the next version of Poser has a fur plugin of some kind, it would be really great on models like this!!

Catharina Przezak ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 9:23 AM

wowoowoow I love the animation.. the Cat is top! now only top texture and wowzy!!!! the Mimic option is great! good work.... poser need this one for sure.. Hugs! Cath

bijouchat ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 9:46 AM

sithgoblin... poser 5 hair can be grown on anything, including the cat. :) I've tried growing hair on models in Carrara to simulate fur using Anything grows, with some degree of success.

I have five cats, or should I say they own me! They take turns sitting on the monitor, and on my graphic tablet which they think is a small cat bed. This one is looking very good, can't wait.

Wow! I can't wait to go home and see the video clips! Now, if only we (meaning Little Dragon, Lyrra, Lemurtek, myself and others) could convince DAZ to create and sell a hybrid character using the new DAZ cat head, tail and possibly hind paws fused to the rest of the Victoria 3 geometry. Now THAT would be a bitchin' character! Sincerely, Bill

neftis ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 11:04 AM

WOW!!! love your texture!!!! Oh I just adore this kitty!:) Superb!!!

Lunaseas ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 11:08 AM

Thank you! p.s if he looks a little bulky in my shots it's because I morphed him to look like a big orange Tom we had to make my children happy:)

VI_Knight ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 12:08 PM

I love this. I can't wait for it to come out. I used to have 13 cats myself at one time. also had 3 dogs and 2 birds along with those. That was a long time ago though. My sister loves animals.

Patricia ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 12:27 PM

Oh, JOY! A real kitty at last....I cannot wait until it's available! We have 3 Furred Purrsons who pretty much rule the roost around here--a 3-legged Himalayan and two medium-long hairs :D Any timeframe mentioned for the kitty's release?

Daio ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 12:50 PM

This is a very preliminary WIP texture as can be seen by the seams and the fact that the nose isn't centered quite right. ;-)

My cats are already tired of my putting them in odd positions to take pix to use in texturing. ;-)

Lunaseas your textures looks great!! love this one of Daio too.. :)))))))

wrpspeed ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 7:18 PM

i wish someone would take the kitty and marry it in the hair room to make some realistic fur for him. i think that would be great i love daio textures for cats. please make a tom cat (black and grey stiped) one.

Chas ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 8:24 PM

This is cruelty, you know. How does one get to be a Beta tester? :( Re: fur... I wonder what the feasibility would be of making a cat-suit conforming figure and transmapping it? If it works, I get to Beta-test, okay? :P

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 8:45 PM

It's possible, Chas, but it isn't really practical for an intricately patterned coat.

http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1118746

brycetech has conforming, transmapped fur for the Poser cat here in the marketplace, but it's solid-colour only.

AkoSteve ( ) posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 10:34 PM

Another model to look forward to? I must confess that I too am a cat lover. And I must agree with Neftis about Siamese cats in particular. A very talkative pair of Siamese live with me and they are wonderful companions. No, they didn't make me say this. ;)

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 14 August 2003 at 12:27 AM

I'm dyin' here! That orange cat looks great and I love the fact that you can "poof up" it's tail! Now....just one more face morph.....a pushed in nose.......for a persian!

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 14 August 2003 at 12:36 AM

Little Dragon, I didn't find any fur for the Poser Cat in the marketplace, just the brycetech boa. Is there something besides that?

Lyrra ( ) posted Thu, 14 August 2003 at 3:26 PM

hey .. I got dibs on making Siamese textures lol And I'm getting source pics of a very mellow Bengal and a Russian Blue I'm also making zillions of characters via my (not yet released) Randomizer .... wheee! Finetuning them and looking at making kittens as well.

Lyrra ( ) posted Thu, 14 August 2003 at 3:28 PM

Oh .. and a pics of a torby as well (tortoise shell tabby)

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Thu, 14 August 2003 at 9:34 PM
  • looks through Marketplace *

sandoppe, I believe brycetech sold it separately at one time, but it's bundled in his Character Pack 2.0 now.

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 14 August 2003 at 10:06 PM

Ok...thanks Little Dragon :)
